Ew, who would buy this? My full review:
THE FORGOTTEN
Director:Joseph Ruben
Actors: Julianne Moore as Telly, Dominic West as Ash, Gary Sinise as Dr. Munce
Rating: 4/10
Plot: A woman (Telly) who's son died 14 months ago wakes up one day only to be told by every that her son never really existed. She knows she isn't crazy so she finds another parent (Ash) who's daughter died in the same incident. The man believes his daughter never existed but is soon convinced she did and joins Telly on a quest to unravel the mystery behind what is happening. What the hell is going on?
Review: The Forgotten is a movie with no bankable actors and no real hype. The movie however does have a cool concept if you watch the trailer and looks like it could be a pretty cool movie full of mystery and scares. Upon finishing watching the Forgotten however you can't help but laugh at how flawed the movie is. At the film's end there are far too many things going against it to make it a good movie. A movie can have a good concept and look good, but following through on the concept is a whole different story.
The Forgotten does start off on a good foot. The movie doesn't jump right into the story but rather builds up someone suspense and mystery. Along with these, the movie tries to help you understand or feel bad for Juliane Moore's character who is dealing with the loss of her son. Sadly as the movie goes on it just loses steam. My biggest complaint about the film is the amount of plot holes. The movie builds up and as scenes happen they are never explained and just left there, leaving plot holes all over. And this isn't just one occurance in this movie. I can't explain the plot holes here becuase I don't want to ruin the movie, but there were a ton. The movie does build up quite a bit and I must say at points I was very curious as to what was going to happen or how it was going to end. The movie goes with a middle that is only okay and a climax and ending that aren't climatic at all. The ending not only isn't as great as you think it would be, but leaves millions of questions open. Nothing is explained or built upon, and that is this movies #1 downfall.
Besides the movie being plagued with more plot holes than swiss cheese, the acting is below sub-par. Juliane Moore plays Telly the main character with a lost son but after the first 15 minutes of the movie, you don't even feel bad for her anymore. Her performance becomes less believble and really very bland. Dominic West (Ash) who plays Juliane Moore's partner in this movie...his performance is a little bit more believeable. He plays the whole "I-Drink-Every-Day-Because-I-Miss-My-Daughter-Or-Son" role okay but still doesn't play it that great or much better than Moore. The most laughable however is the guy that plays Juliane Moore's husband...MY GOD, he was worse than a soap opera actor. I don't care if he was on E.R., the fact is that he sucked horribly in this movie and was laughable every time he spoke or showed his face on the screen. The performances though not the worst ever put to film, were very lacking and at times weren't believeable at all.
Though the plot holes are more evident than a person murdered in the middle of a Yankees game, and the acting performances are lacking, there is a thing or two that made the movie watchable. A few camera angles used by director Joseph Ruben were stylish, a main one that sticks out in my mind is the car in front of the "Quest-Air" building, I just liked the color and the way it was shot. The movie's trailer or previews make it seems like a scare a minute (which it isn't) but the "jump" scenes aren't completly absent. They went for a lot, and some didn't work but the ones that were shot well worked to perfect. I myself never jump in movies but there is one particular scene in this movie where I jumped out of my seat and almost choked myself to death on a Sour Patch Kid. There were many attempts at scares and some worked good for them, but the ones that didn't really dragged it down becuase they were just too damn laughable. The abduction scenes that are shown often in the preview were meant to scare but were horribly executed and resulted in a whole theater of people breaking out in laughter. And as if anything more can go wrong, the final confrontation of the movie which is meant to be climactic and suspense-filled just ended up being horribly shot and extremly laughable. Can anything go right for this movie?
The answer to the last sentence I typed is no. The Forgotten was plagued with plot holes, bad acting, a ruined concept, lame acting, and horribly shot scares that ended up being laughable. The Forgotten was only saved by a few scares here and there and the fact that it kept me somewhat interested at points. The Forgotten, a movie that could have been a lot better ends up being a blotched mess that falls completly flat on it's face. The Forgotten is barely worth a rent. The Forgotten like it's name will be and should be forgotten.
Gore: ZIP.
Nudity: Old, ugly, freckly Julianne Moore in her undies.
Bottom Line: The Forgotten is a mess. Plot holes, badly shot scares, non-believeable acting, a climax that sucked to go with an even worse ending, and just everything else. Nothing went right for the Forgotten and it only left me at the end feeling like I had just wasted 6$ I could have spent on some pizza across the street. Once again: The Forgotten like it's name will be and should be forgotten.

First of all I do not give out my sources, I own a video store, I talk to studio reps on a constant basis. Second, there is no need to post "source" under all my posts, I think it is reason to be banned. If you go back and look at all my posts. They are all 100% accurate, and if there is a release date change. I post it
SO STOP WITH "Source" Already

Why should you get banned for posting a source? Sorry, but it's total bull. You should post a source so we know it's correct. As for the movie, I might see it in theaters...but I doubt it if it'll be out so soon.
