What DVD have you traded away or sold that you regret now getting rid of?
My regrets:
Ikiru: Criterion
Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box (I did make $144 CDN off it though and was able to buy a whole shitload of DVD's with it including Band of Brothers)

Ikiru! There's no excuse for trading Ikiru.
I hope you got a lot out of it.

The only dvd's I ever got rid off were Something Wicked This Way Comes, which I let a friend barrow and never got back, The Animatrix, which I let a friend barrow and I never got back, and Full Metal Jacket, which I gave to a friend.

So that is why you had that list of 3 people with one crossed off.
I thought that person in the Obituary section looked familiar.

He got a copy of Criterion Collection's Brazil for it. When you consider that Ikiru is cheaper, much more common and has alot more extras (not to mention there's rumour going around that it's on the verge of going OOP) I think he got a damn good deal.
As for me, I usually trade away barebones DVDs that I watched once after blind buying them and while they weren't necessarily bad, I put them back in their cases and never let them out again. I nearly came close to selling my Criterion Collection copy of 8½ after I re-watched it and decided I hated it. I almost sold it until I became a big Criterion completist and decided to keep it.

 , I would have given you about 200 dollars canadian, although I don't know what that is American for it. How can you regret buying it?
I regret buying the TCM remake 2-disker thingy, but I did get the Toy Story 2-disk combo, but I still really want the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box.

I'm trading away the Band of Brothers box set tomorrow, but believe me, the deal is a good one.

I have the Ultimate Toy Story box, and all three discs are in mint condition. The box is sitting on the shelf, untouched since I bought it. I only watched the first one twice, the second one twice, and the extras once.
Interested?
:D
I haven't regretted giving away any of my DVDs. Although I did loan out FRAILTY to a friend and never got it back, but now it's $6.00 at Target, so I'm not complaining too much. I saw it about 8 times, too, so I wasn't going to see it again anytime soon.

Why would you get rid of a DVD? And especially Ikiru and Toy Story?

I did regret giving away Office Space hugely at the time.

Althought I can understand asking questions about giving those kinds of DVDs away, this is a thread for DVDs that you've sold in exchange for money (or in my case, came close but didn't quite do it). Not to mention a few unlucky folks here who've had their stolen or lost.

Lucky for you it's coming back with a far superior treatment.;)

American Psycho Unrated I sold for $10, and it's apparently OOP now (or just not sold at many places anymore).

You mean there's a rumor of Brazil going out of print? Or did you mean Ikiru?
Myself, I do not pay attention to rare DVD's or OOP DVD's unless it's a movie I love or want to see. I'd take eleven Ikiru's over twenty OOP Brazil's.

Brazil (I think Ikiru was released January 06, 2004 while the other film was released way back in July 13, 1999, so Criterion's rights on it are closer to expiring).
Oh, I don't buy your logic. It's a like trading away your cheap MGM copy of Annie Hall for Amrmageddon Criterion. You may feel as it you got a raw deal, but you could easily sell Amrmageddon for enough to be able to buy another copy of Annie Hall, along with a good deal of left over money for something else (maybe another criterion like Peeping Tom or something).

That's true, I could sell twenty OOP of Brazil's for say, seventy each, and make $1,400 dollars (I'm not sure what one would go for) and sell eleven Annie Hall's, now going for eight dollars for a new copy, and make a measly $88 dollars.
I guess what I was saying in my previous post was that I am not an avid DVD hound who collects DVDs. Whether I have the mass produced Annie Hall or the rare SE Annie Hall, it's all the same. Of course, I'd prefer the SE, but I am not going to do anything about it.

I sold these to buy booze. I regret that phase of my life so much. I will never afford to get these sets again.
