Best/Worst Video game adaption

I've yet to see a video game movie that I found great, but the worst, IMO:

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, is the biggest turd ever smudged on film.

Does Final Fantasy count? If so that is the best. If not then I'd say Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the second Tomb Raider movie. Though I did enjoy the first Mortal Kombat and Super Mario Bros. as well.
As for worst, easily that goes to Mortal Kombat: Annihilation! Though Street Fighter is also pretty awful.

Why the hate for Street Fighter?

Granted it's not brilliant but compared to Mortal Kombat : Annihilation & Resident Evil : Apocalypse it's the best film ever made.

If Christophe Gans ever gets around to doing Silent Hill that will be the best video game adaptation.

Best I can think of right now: Super Mario Bros. Yes, I like it. I think there was a Japanese video game adaptation that was actually really good, but I can't remember what it is.

Worst: Street Fighter.

Couldn't disagree with you more. I thought RE:A was a blast! Whereas Streetfighter was terrible! It was dumb, cheap, cheesy, the action sequences were dull and the acting was pretty horendous. I usually like Jean Claude Van Damme, but not here!

Yep, you've summed up RE : A to a tee.

When Streetfighter came out like most I thought it was total shit but I've mellowed towards it over the years.

For starters all the video game characters are featured & they don't take too many liberties with them (apart from placing Guile ahead of Ken & Ryu in the pecking order).

Secondly there's loads of funny little asides & in jokes which most video game adaptations just don't feature.

Thirdly you've got Raul Julia. The best (only?) actor to appear in one of these type of films.

What's with the hate toward MK: Anihilation and Street Fighter? The best, I'd have to say is Mortal Kombat. The worst from what I've seen is the Mario Brothers, but I haven't seen it in a while.

Raul Julia is a good actor but his performance in this movie is mediocre at best.

A bunch of great actors have had their fair share of bad performances. For Raul Julia it was Street Fighter.

My personal favourite is Resident Evil: Apocalypse cos unlike most I really enjoyed that movie.

Worst I would say is the original Tomb Raider film.

I kinda like Super Mario Bros and Street Fighter... I am that sad.

Worst? Gah, Double Dragon! It made Street Fighter look like gold. Hell, even Alyssa Milano couldn't save that crap ass movie!

Best? Hmm....animation in Final Fantasy was great, best time had to be Mortal Kombat, and in my childhood I loved Super Mario Bros.
