Hugh Defensive Over Prostitute Scene

Hugh Grant failed to see the funny side when quizzed about a scene in the new Bridget Jones movie, which shows him with a prostitute.

The upper-crust star was once famously caught with Hollywood hooker Divine Brown.

In the second Jones flick, The Edge Of Reason, his caddish character Daniel Cleaver meets the Thai prostitute in a bar.

The Sun reports that he was asked: "Do you think there's some irony in having the scene with the prostitute in the film?"

Grant immediately snapped back: "Well, I didn't write that scene. It's just there.

He then quickly added: "It doesn't even bother me."

He was arrested in 1995 for asking Brown to perform oral sex on LA's sunset strip. Grant was later fined £800.

The Edge Of Reason, the follow-up to the 2001 smash hit Bridget Jones's Diary starring Renee Zellweger, is out at UK cinemas next month.

Must've been why he snapped. I like the guy, but I would have thought he would find some humor in it.

the funniest thing I recall about that incident...

well, there's two things.

First one is when he went on David Letterman to promote Extreme Measures. It was only a couple days after he was caught with the hooker, and he walks on stage, the audience stops clapping, and neither Grant nor Letterman say anything for a few seconds.

Then, Hugh just says, "Uh... I did a bad thing. That's that."
And no one mentioned the event for the rest of the night. Now THAT was some funny, straightforward shit!

The second one was on Conan O'Brien. He was talking about how he wasn't too intrigued by Extreme Measures in one particular scene. It bothered him. Then he showed a clip with Hugh Grant being questioned about something in the movie. They paused it, then had a chick walk onscreen (bluescreen) and she stopped in front of Grant's lap, then she ducked down offscreen for a few seconds, came back up, wiped her mouth, and walked off.
They unpaused the scene, and Hugh Grant just says, "Well that was quick."

HAHAHA! I love Conan.:D

He's probably defensive because he knows he's an idiot for cheating on Liz Hurley.

I just think he's probably sick of it being brought up. And we are talking about The Sun here so i'd be less than surprised if the incident had been exagerated just to give them a more interesting angle.
