I don't even know where to start, but one thing is for sure: This 2-disc special edition of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW (which apparently is being released in some countries outside the US, Brazil included) is what all DVD's should be like. It doesn't get better than that. First of all americans, last I heard it WILL be released in the US, but in 2005.
[Not that this is very important to everyone, but I got some "treats" from the store I bought the DVD: A beautiful set of pen & mechanical pencil with the logo of the film and a 3D-card of the movie, along with a mini poster. It makes every DVD-collector happy, I guess! OH, and they didn't charge the delivery, all I paid was the DVD itself and it wasn't really expensive!]

NOW onto the DVD:

In Disc 2 there's a "Inside The Day after Tomorrow" feature that is sepparated in 3 parts: Pre-production, production and post-production. The "Production" one is the most interesting and runs about 1 hour and 10 minutes. It's really amazing. "Pre" and "Post" are very informative, extensive and interesting.

"POST" is subdivided in 4 categories, including "Visual Effects", "Scoring", "Audio Anatomy" and "deleted scenes". There are some very good deleted scenes [a specific one in a beach should definitely have stayed in the movie]. The video quality is perfect. A optional audio commentary is available in these scenes.

"THE Science of Tomorrow" is an hour long docummentary that treats the matters of the film in a real way. Kinda scary, but very interesting.

"Freezing cities" gives us a world map and some cities to click on. When you click on them, there's a process of freezing that city. Cool, but not really important. There's also a couple of more features on disc 2 which I haven't checked yet.

On Disc 1 there's the movie which 2 optional commentaries, an Alien Vs. Predator making of and that's it.

I have to wrap this up saying that the menus are really amazing to look at.

Definitely something to look forward to!!!

The extras actually seem underwhelming. As always, studios looking for the double dip. Pffft.
