What do you think is the best opening to a movie?

I think Se7en

If you mean opening credits, I'd say Se7en hands down. Second goes to most of the Bond movies.

As for opening scenes, Saving Private Ryan. The 20 minute D-Day battle scene was simply amazing. Nothing else even comes close.

Lord of the Rings: FOTR's Prologue gives me shivers and I love the character intros in Snatch.

Actually, the best opening credits, hands down, should go to THE NINTH GATE.

The entire opening for Magnolia was brilliant. When Ricky Jay is telling the three stories of coincidence and then we are introduced to all of the characters. Excellent.

I'm gonna go with Se7en as well. It's very well-done, and it's creepy too.

Best opening credits go to Sphere. It was all downhill from there.
Best actual opening...hmm...Seven's been mentioned so many times, I'll just come up with something else:
Vanilla Sky?
From Dusk till Dawn?
Oh..wait..I got it: Reservoir Dogs.
