I learned something really interesting recently. We all know that "Halloween" was set in Haddonfield, Illinois and that Camp Crystal Lake is set in New Jersey. Well, there happens to be a little town called Haddonfield in New Jersey. I wasn't sure if the town in H-series was fictional or not, but I always assumed that "Haddonfield" is one of those names that many towns around the United States shares.

Well, here's the twist. I learned from a friend that Debra Hill went to school in Haddonfield, New Jersey. And upon, producing "Halloween" with John Carpenter, they tried to set it in her hometown. However, that town, for reasons that I don't remember, refused to let them use their local area for filming.
So, they had to go their merry way to Illinois and use the "Haddonfield" there. Still not sure if there happens to be real one there.

Thought you H-fans might get a kick out of that. Michael could have been neighbors with Jason! But, there's more. Apparently, while Johnny and Debbie were still at New Jersey, they filmed a particular house for the film. Apparently, you can see the house from the opening sequence - or a later shot - here in New Jersey.

Debra Hill lived in Haddonfield, New Jersey, how do you think they came up with the idea?

They really should of seriously made them neighbors and have them go on killing sprees.

Oh thinking of this i think that they should make Freddy and Jason where they team up and go to Elm Street and Camp Crystal Lake.

Here's one addition to this and you can look it up on the internet, there's an actual town in Illinois called Crystal Lake. No bullshit.

I just watched the 25 years of Terror dvd and unless I was mistaken I would swear that on the exit sign for Haddenfield there was also a town called Voorhees.

I just watched that too. The road sign read: Haddonfield, Voorhees and Gibbs.

I have an uncle that lives in Voorhees, NJ. He's not a horror fan though so it's not a big deal to him.

I believe that you all are mistaken, the Haddonfield I am thinking of is in ILLINOIS(ALTHOUGH IT'S FICTIONAL, I THINK). What's my basis, there is an actual SMITHS GROVE IN KENTUCKY!!! So that's why I refuse to entertain that Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees could have been neighbors. Anyways the movie was based in the American Midwest, not the East Coast. I may be wrong but I HIGHLY DOUBT IT, that's just my take on it.
