Why is "liberal" such a four-letter word?

Same with "moderate".

I think it just goes to show how divided the country has become, where someones political beliefs (i.e. liberal or conservative) now defines them and can be used against them. I'm a proud liberal, but I don't say the word "conservative" with a growl. It really is tempting though.....:cool:

I'm somewhere between moderate and conservative. The weather's not bad over here.

And for the record, I don't growl the word liberal, even in disagreement.
