Ì watched Shrek a year ago and immediately when the film opened, I was puzzled by the theme song. You know, the very catchy, classical film score -esque tune with violins, it's repeated througout the first film and it's sequel. The 2nd film is also opened with the same melody.
It comes off as if the tune was written for the film, but I just 100% sure that I've heard it before watching the first film. What is it? Is it some classic pop song which was then covered as an instrumental version for the film (In Brazil style), or is it just strinkingly similar to some other movie theme? Or maybe it's originally conducted by some classical composer? I'm thinking something like "The Young Prince and the Princess" From Scheherazade, which I haven't heard in years, but this could be a variation of it... I just recall it was also extremely catchy and had a similar feel to it.
