On September 8th, 3 big movies are coming up -
Renee Zellweger's "Nurse Betty"
Keanu Reeves's "The Watcher"
Ryan Phillippe's "The Way of the Gun"
What do you think of these movies from the previews and which one will you probably go see? /ubb/biggrin.gif

Defenetly The Way of the Gun. Not only is this from the director of The Usual Suspects (Bryan Singer), the trailer looks awesome. I know you can't tell a movie from a trailer, but I'm hoping for the best.

I heard Nurse Betty is really good, so I am leaning to that one.

Nurse Betty definetly Neil LaBute is a genius and Morgan Freeman is a God.

Isnīt The Way of the gun- director the same man who wrote the script for The Usual Suspects, Christophe McQuarrie (or something like that)? At least I think so. Well, anyway...I too look forward to it!

Damn. Guess I'm gonna be at the theater for a long time that week(gonna see Saving Grace, Highlander: Endgame, Nurse Betty, The Way of the Gun, and The Watcher.) I would have also said The Crew, The Original Kings of Comedy, and The Cell, but I'll probably see those before the others come out.

Yah Highlander looks pretty bad, and I saw the trailer for "The Way of the Gun" & "The Watcher" before I saw "The Cell"... and both look so-so... I am probably going to see Nurst Betty! Morgan Freeman is great, especially in the Shawshank Redemption /ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm not a cinema man usually but if i had to chose i'd pick Nurse Betty. I've just heard so much about it compared to the other choices that that would be the one for me.

Hey Pinchadiscos, I love when you do these things, but how come you skipped the next 2 weekends? Do they suck that bad?! (actually, I just looked at the schedule, and well...don't answer that /ubb/smile.gif
I'm personally looking WAY too forward to WAY OF THE GUN, I don't know, something about it, just looks like it's gonna kick some ass!
THE WATCHER is a film that I only heard about a few weeks ago, and that's pretty weird considering that Keanu's in it, so I will be going in to that one with trepidation (the trailer looks so-so).
NURSE BETTY looks like a fun l'il romp. I personally didn't care much for LaBute's first two flicks, but this trailer looks like it might be pretty original.

Yah Joblo, I think the 2 weeks I skipped are pretty bad.... Here's why:
Next Week:
Bring It On - Errrr... another one of those /ubb/frown.gif
The Art of War - probably will be the #1 movie
The Crew - might be funny, but old guys piss me off
Next Next Week (9/1)
Highlander: Endgame - the trailer looks really bad
The St. Francisville Experiment - a rip-off of Blair Witch
Whipped - i would rather get whipped
But then this exciting week at the movies arrives with three blockbuster films!!! The 2 previous weeks are pretty weak compared to this one, don't u agree? /ubb/biggrin.gif
I agree with Joblo that "The Watcher" will be kinda weird because Keanu plays the bad guy, and we are used to cheering for him, so... oh well...

Yipes, if you check out our latest RELEASE DATES schedule, it appears as though THE WATCHER has disappeared from sight at this point...not sure what happened...

I'm looking forward to Nurse Betty. Winner of the screenplay award at Cannes, it looks like great fun. The Way of the Gun and The Watcher.. I'll pass.

Dudes, I don't know why everyone is dogging on Highlander, I think it's going to be awesome. I mean, unless you guys don't like hot women and swordplay...As for the what movie I'm looking forward to, I'd have to say Nurse Betty. Way of the Gun has two things going against it, Ryan Phillipe, who is a pansy-ass, noodle-wristed choir boy, and it reminds me too much of Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. There's only two movies I've ever walked out of in my life, Mod Squad, and LSTSB.

Man i'm still very excited about this upcoming week at the movies!!! Any predictions for the box office? Nurse Betty might be the best movie among the 3, but I doubt it will be the top box office film... and there are probably more Phillippe fans than Reeves... so i'll probably have to guess:
1) The Way of the Gun
2) The Watcher
3) Nurse Betty

Lol, well, I came into Lock, Stock...wanting to like the movie because I'd heard such good things about it. About halfway through the movie, my friends and I were just bored out of our wits. The plot was complex enough, but I just was'nt emotionally invested in any of the characters. Maybe it's because I have the shortest attention span in the...what was I talking about again? But the movie just was'nt fast-pased enough for me. I actually rented this movie like 6 months ago to see if I was'nt wrong but it still bored the hell outta me. Some scenes had their moments, the dildo scene comes to mind, but otherwise the whole movie did'nt keep me entertained for that whole 2 hours or so. Like I said, I just did'nt really care enough about the characters to really get into what they were doing. Maybe if one of them was a hot chick, or a monkey of some sorts... /ubb/smile.gif
Way of the Gun. Without Question, it looks so cool and really fun. I really enjoy watching Benichio DelToro Act.

I saw both movies lastnight(9/8/00).
The Watcher was an awright film, but i dig those ch-ch bang and rat-a-tat scenes in The Way of The Gun. other than that the movies had its boring moments and slick dialogs.
after the night my conclusing is that The Way of the Gun is better than The Watcher.
