This is a cool, informative documentary on the Hammer legacy. It's narrated by Cushing and Lee, and features interviews with Hazel Court, Jimmy Sangster, Caroline Munro, Raquel Welch, Ingrid Pitt, Roy Ward Baker, Val Guest, and many other studio notables. To be honest, it didn't tell me much that I didn't already know, but most genre novitiates won't have this problem. It covers the high and the lows, the successes and the failures. Hammer's timeline is delineated in a comprehensible manner, and the running time is just right (a tight 100 minutes). The only problem I had with this inquest was that it dismissed Amicus as a low-rent Hammer knockoff. It was a knockoff, but their films were just as distinguished as the competition.
At any rate, this is must-watch material for fans of British horror.
