Pearl Jam can be great on occassions and then be dismal the next. I really like most of their early work, though. I need to pick this CD up.

I wasn't even aware of the fact that they had a greatest hits compilation out. It must have been a contractual fulfillment. I remember reading that they left their record label (Epic, if I'm not mistaken). I have no reason to buy it, but I suppose that it's suitable for casual listeners.
