I've always felt somewhat sympathetic towards the sexy, underrated Basinger. Although she's no Katharine Hepburn, I suspect that Kim's real-life insecurities and fame phobias have put a damper on her acting career/abilities. For all you L.A. CONFIDENTIAL fans out there: if you liked Kim's Oscar-winning performance in that film, rent the 80's comedy NADINE, in which Basinger shows off her comedic talent (and shares great chemistry with on-screen paramour Jeff Bridges, even moreso than in her films with real life ex-hubby Alec Baldwin).

Did I mention that this woman is pushing 50? And she's never looked better!
