Hello there,

In a local store, I found the dvd of Andy Copp's "The Mutilation Man" for only five euro's (that's about 7 dollar or something like that I guess). That's not much money, but I just wanted to check with you guys if it's really worth the buying...

Is the story any good, or is it all just about the gore? Is the gore great or crappy?

Any comments? I'd appreciate it a lot!

Thanks,

Jan

Its EXTREMELY avant garde and hard to follow. I....really dont know what the fuck to think of it and I've seen it a few times.

Its about a man living in the post apocalyptic future who travels around mutilating himself as an entertainment act. It goes into detail about his messed up past and his """"love life""""

Microbudget and at times really grainy and poor. There are really disturbing visuals(besides the gore!) and it makes you feel a little ill. As for the red stuff.. well.. its in every frame.

I say check it out if you wanna see something different. DIFFERENT.

Ok, you've convinced me, thanks! :)

I really like disturbing/strange-like movies: TCM, Mulholland Drive, Un Chien Andalou, Naked Lunch,... . Of course it won't be a lot like this I guess, but I'm glad that it's not "the average horror flick".

Thanks, i'm gonna get me the dvd tomorrow and I'll let you know what I think of it :)

Hahahah, dont mention it!

I dont know whether I could actually compare it to anything, but Un Chien Andalou is really the closest I could come. Its like Chien only.. really... heavy Metal.

which is cool. I mean, I welcome ANYTHING weird like Mutilation Man. Bring that shit on!

Please, lemme know what you think. I can only think of about two other schmoes who've seen it. and they're fucking FREAKS. ;)

QUE?

Man, this movie sure was WEIRD  :D

Those crazy/half creepy-sounding soundscapes, that twister of shocking/raw/brutal/bizarre images: not your average movie if you ask me.
The way it was filmed (a bit "documentary"-style, the type of pellicule,...) really added something to the atmosphere

Definitely a movie that I'm going to review a couple of times, but I think I won't find any friends who'll find it enjoyable to watch it together with me ;)

The gore-factor is quite low actually (well, you can't see very much of it because it's all very hectic), but the movie twists your mind in a way.

I thought the story itself was pretty dumb, but on the other hand: very artistically presented in a way.

Sure glad I got this movie for only 5 euros

Friac:

Well, I'm glad you got something out of it.. Mutilation Man is more of a curiousity than anything.

heheh, having to shell out a lot of cash for it might be a pissoff. Still.. something worth having, imo.
