I've never been a sci-fi nerd, but my mind is gradually opening to straight sci-fi fare. Phantom Planet isn't straight sci-fi fare, but it's close. An astronaut inadvertently winds up on a planet inhabited by six-inch primitives. The planet's atmosphere shrinks the reluctant astronaut (no, he isn't played by Don Knotts) down to size. A fairly engaging antiquity, although it's emphatically cheesy. It was featured on MST3K, and is infamous for its "popcorn chicken" asteroids. The Solarites - sweaty, lubberly actors in schlockgasmic creature suits - are a riotous sight to behold. Recommended for those who fancy themselves as a pullulating Tom Servo.
