I know that the majority of you schmoes laugh/vomit when you hear the name Bill O'Reilly, but he is interviewing Donald Rumsfeld tonight at 8 p.m & 11 p.m eastern time. Rummy RARELY gives interviews, so this should be interesting. I'm sure he will be asked about the insurgency, the iraqi elections, Iran, N. Korea, our border problem, oil for food scandal, bin laden, and so on. Should be fun to watch.
Please don't shoot the messenger :P
I wonder if he'll ask him about his upcoming lawsuit?
US constitutional rights lawyers say they have filed a criminal complaint against the US Defence Secretary. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4057531.stm)

Maybe they'll hold hands, feed each other grapes....falafels anyone?
I wont expect any hard hitting questions, especially after watching O'Reilly practically answer his own questions while interviewing GW. (He literally guided GW through the questioning)

Did we watch the same interview?
Besides, O'Reilly's pretty vocal about Rumsfield avoiding him, not wanting to talk to him, etc and I'm pretty sure he's said he should resign.

Bill's been pretty critical of Rummy. This will be a good interview.

What I find really funny is that most people associate O’Reilly as a conservative republican, when actually he’s a moderate republican. And he’s very critical of Rumsfeld, I’m going to see this as well.

Nothing really caught my ear tonight. Should have known it was going to be split up to earn more ratings. I really didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. Hopefully I will enjoy tomorrow's half better.

I didn't really see that interview in the same way you did. I thought he asked some pretty tough questions and pushed him pretty hard without disrespecting the current President of the United States. I thought they were great questions and I liked the fact that he didn't allow the administration to review the questions ahead of time. I think there is a fine line with pushing a question trying to get a straight answer and being disrespectful and rude.

I havent known the administration to be so relaxed about an interview with the president. I find that hard to believe unless they just assumed the interview would be fairly easy, and in my opinion, it was.
Ill try to find a transcript.

I don't think ive ever heard an interview contain more one-word answers.....and i dont think ive ever seen a "fair" interviewer let that slide.

I just read the whole thing, and I didn't see any 'one word answers' that couldn't be answered in one word. I think O'Reilly pushed him on the Swift Boat question, Iran, the border, Iraq, WMD, and a few others. Did his answers satisfy me? For the most part, yes.
It's all opinions. I like it, its my opinion. You thought that Oreilly walked him through it, its your opinion. I understand that. I just don't get the "ive never seen an interview contain as many one word answers" part.

Well you're right, most of the "Yeah" 's came when O'Reilly jumped into his own questions.
My favorite portion of the interview:
O'REILLY: Do you think it can be paid off in our lifetime?
BUSH: The deficit?
O'REILLY: Yes.
BUSH: You mean, to have the revenues exceed the expenses in the budget?
O'REILLY: See, we have a big deficit here...
BUSH: Are you talking about the debt or the deficit?
O'REILLY: The deficit.
BUSH: Yes.

I thought it was pretty good, and didn't feel like O'Reily lead him to much. There was a point in the interview where Rumsfeld laughed alittle and O'Reily said "don't laugh this isn't funny". I thought that was cool.

I didn't get anything out of the Rummy O'Reilly interview. It just wasn't interesting at all. Sucked big donkey balls.
