Not a horror movie, but a recent news item. I know it's usual for a thread on JoBlo, but my, is it creepy. And as a bonus, this woman's last name is Krueger.

Entombed fetal remains found in dead Wisconsin woman's home

October 4, 2000

SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin (AP) -- Relatives sorting through the apartment of a deceased 64-year-old Wisconsin woman found fetal remains entombed in a concrete-filled bucket.

The fetus, which was estimated at 20 to 50 years old, appeared to be full term and may have been placed in a plastic bag in the bucket within a half hour of delivery, police said Tuesday.

It remained unclear who the parents of the fetus were, and authorities were awaiting information on the cause of death from a forensic anthropologist.

While sifting through the belongings of Barbara Krueger, who died of natural causes last month, family members came across a five-gallon metal pail that seemed to be filled with concrete.

They were suspicious because the bucket was too light for concrete, police said. They broke open the concrete and found skeletal remains in a plastic bag.

"This is one of the stranger incidents I've run into," Deputy Police Chief Robert Wojs said. "It appears that somebody carried the fetal remains from apartment to apartment for at least 20 years."

Krueger apparently lived in six residences over the years, and one of her daughters recalled seeing the bucket at one of her previous homes, Wojs said.

Police said there were no indications the baby's death was a homicide, but they had interviewed two of the woman's former husbands to gain more information.

Authorities did not intend to pursue testing of the genetic material DNA unless further evidence suggested the cause of death was a homicide, Wojs said.

You couldnt write a story like that...then again the reality of it is, the horrors of every day life can be the very foundation for a great horror film, thats for damn sure!

A couple of years or so back a buiding was being demolished in the UK and the remains of a foetus was found entombed in a block of concrete.

Wasn't there one recently about a woman who had the remains of a child in a bin liner in her wardrobe?

I'm curious to see what all the interrogations and the autopsy bring to the table. The story is creepy in a way... yet very intrieging. (UGH, Cannot spell it for some reason!!)

Why do I feel like I'm sitting around a campfire? ;)

In all seriousness, that's incredibly disturbing. See, this is why I'm not fond of reality. Could someone pass me a marshmallow?

For her to carry it around like that from place to place makes me believe that it was hers. Maybe she lost it at birth but just couldn't let go. Very disturbing.

The article says she had two husbands, but I had the impression that this was some illict pregnancy she had before marrying either of them. And yes, I agree that it was hers. Otherwise why would she carry some kid's remains for up to half a century? Makes sense on some primal, feral level...I suppose.

Was it this guy????

Chicago artist Henry Darger-

A recluse whose trove of fantasy-themed artwork in his home was discovered by his landlord after he died in 1972. Orphaned at an early age, Darger was deemed a troublemaker and placed in a variety of mental institutions until he ran away at the age of 16. For the next six decades, he worked as a janitor in the Chicago area.

Well, my theory is probably not right, but maybe she had the baby at home, and it died during birth. She may have been so heartbroken she couldn't let go of the pain and decided to take it with her, kinda like the woman who sleeps with her husband's corpse at night or something.

Or, she could be a psychotic killer, which would be more interesting. ;)

Sounds like a case of an unwanted pregnancy gone awry to me. The act of encasing the baby in a concrete tomb seems to be an act of concealment rather than some sort of preservation. Fearing discovery of what she had done, the woman chose to keep the concrete filled bucket with her at all times, more than likely hidden in a closet or a similar location. Perhaps I am a bit cynical, but I would guess that baby was alive when it was tossed into the bag, suffocated, and entombed in the concrete.

Given the, admittedly limited, information we have to go on here, I would suspect the woman was a murderer or involved in some way with the death of someone's child, if not her own.
