For me, this would be Ethan Hawke winning Best Supporting Actor for his overrated performance in the WAY overrated Training Day. Why was he nominated? I don't know. I'm not happy with Ebert's "he plays off Washington" excuse either. What do you think?

BEST ACTRESS- Sissy Spacek (She already has won so give the lory to someone else...)
Best Actor- Russel Crowe (You won last year, sit down and let Denzel win)
Best Movie- Gosford Park (need I say more?)
Best Score- LOTR (The worst thing about LOTR was the rehashed Titanic score)
" and the winner is... A Beautiful Mind..."
" and the winner is... Ron Howard..."

You hit it right on the head, Nate. This is the worst thing that could happen.
I'd also hate for Jimmy Neutron to beat Shrek or Monsters, Inc.

I second Muha. If anything is overrated it is A Beautiful Mind.

I really hope Ethan Hawke wins. I thought he was great in his role. I'd least like Robert Altman to win for directing.

I'd least like to see Moulin Rouge, or LOTR win Best Picture. Mostly because I'd rather see "In The Bedroom", or "A Beautiful Mind" win, not because they were bad movies.

Best Picture: Gosford Park, In The Bedroom, or LOTR:FOTR
Best Actor: Denzel Washington or Sean Penn
Best Director: Peter Jackson or Robert Altman
Best Actress: Judi Dench
Best Supporting Actor: Ben Kingsley
Best Supporting Actress: Anyone other then Jennifer Connelly would be an insult.
Best Song: Giving Enya this award for "May It Be" would be another insult.

The events I'd lest like to see, is Ethan Hawke winning, Russel Crowe Winning, and Sissy Spaseck winning.

A Lord of the Rings sweep.
The overrated Spacek winning for such an average performance. Though I'm not saying she's a bad actress in the slightest, just this year the performance was just okay.
An upset for Jennifer Connelly. So many people on Oscar websites are saying that there's a possibility of a Maggie Smith or Kate Winslet upset because the category is notorious for them. Last year for example. So I just hope Connelly wins the damn thing!

Although I know it won't happen, I'm dreading a Will Smith win as well. If he does win, I KNOW he'd bring the real ALI (poor guy!) on stage with him during his acceptance speech!
I'm also dreading this whole African-American theme night that Halle Berry and Will Smith keep drooling about. The Oscars are supposed to be about honoring the best in film, not a specific minority (like the dreaded "Year Of The Woman" in 1992!).

Dickhead Crow winning, but if he does win Crow opening his speech with “Gidday how you all going folks” What a Vegie.

Why is LOTR:FOTR one of the things you'd like to see the least? I know you perfer Moulin Rouge or ABM, but why would LOTR winning bug you so much? I mean, you gave it a 10/10, which is higher than what you gave Moulin Rouge, isn't it?

I think we all say something like that at least three times a year, then we always tune into the Oscars. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

This is just my theory, but I think that people dont want LotR to win, because it was such a critical and commercial sucess. Because its popular.

Gosford Park wins all 7 of the awards it's nominated for. Now that would truly be awful.

Definitely not! Steve Martin is a genius, and he was hilarious last year.

You're exactly right. I've heard lots of people who claimed to like LOTR now say that "it had better not win Best Picture"! The only reason I can think of is the one you've pointed out.

Ben Kingsley did'nt give a bad performance, but, he didn't give the best performance either. I think Ian Mckellen gave the best supporting performance of the year. Kingsley doesn't deserve it this year.

Why is that? Amélie is the perfect picture for an Oscar. It gross out more money then any other french movies ever... and well, it's also a really brilliant movie.

I won't be too happy if LOTR picks up too many awards. It's probably just me, but I didn't see anything great about that movie at all. Ah well. I won't exactly be disappointed if A Beautiful Mind takes Best Picture, but I'm going for Moulin Rouge, as the other two nominees I haven't yet seen.
