What I would like most is for A Beautiful Mind and Moulin Rouge! to sweep the top awards and leave the technical ones for LOTR. What do you think?

BEST MOVIE- Moulin Rouge (The best of the nominated movies that I have seen)
BEST ACTRESS- Nicole Kidman (She deserves that award for her TWO great performances and the terrible break up with the gay Tom Cruise)
BEST ACTOR- Denzel Washington (He seems to be a nice guy and deserves the award more than anyone else..)
BEST DIRECTOR Peter Jackson (If he doesn't win ((which I'm predicting he won't, Ron Howard probably will)) he better win for TTT or RotK)
BEST SCORE- Harry Potter (John Williams did a great job with Harry Potter, one of his best scores in years... If he doesn't win for Harry Potter, hopefully he'll win for A.I., which I think wasn't as good)

"... and the winner is Peter Jackson..."

"... and the winner is Ian McKellan..."

What I'd love to see happen more than anything is for Moulin Rouge to win every award it is nominated for (and then for it to somehow win Best Song and Best Director despite the pesky lack of a nomination).

I'd also love if Memento and Ghost World won the Best Screenplay awards.

I just must not "get" Moulin Rouge. Anyways, ill second Muha, except im not sure if Ian McKellen shold take Supporting Actor. Steve Buscemi did a hell of a job.

The thing I'd most like to see is Julia Roberts face drop when she announces Russell Crowe for Best Actor, just as fast as it did at the Globes last year when she read Ang Lee's name! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif (for you slow folks who don't get the joke, she's a huge Denzel supporter and last year starred in a film directed by two-time nominee Steven Soderbergh, who lost to Lee)

Also A Beautiful Mind getting all the accolades it can get its hands on!

And finally, Nicole Kidman winning Best Actress for the exact same reasons Horror whore stated. I've been saying that all along - Two great performances and a shitty personal year. 2001 was so her year, God damnit!

I hope Lord of the Ring win the important oscars. Not for the acting doh. It's not an actors movies...

But hey, when is the last time you saw a sci-fi/fantasy movies win an oscar? Never! So that would be a great choice and it would show the Academy are just not a bunch of old morrons who are only interested in Drama... and most commondly, Melodrama.

QUENTIN, did you finally get to see SEXY BEAST?

The one award that I'm rooting for: Ben Kingsley for Best Supporting Actor, THE performance of the year! And to think, he had just as much screen time as Best Actress nominee Sissy Spacek, and more screen time than former Best Actor winner Anthony Hopkins in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS!

Ditto Jennifer Connelly, she's second on my "rooting value" list. She deserved a Lead Actress nod as well.

LOTR get shut out.

Ghost World winning best adapted screenplay.

Memento winning best screenplay.

Jack Palance present the Best Actress Oscar and Marisa Tomei win, then Marisa gets up onstage, whipes some white stuff off the side of her mouth and say "Thanks again Jack." http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

That is assuming that Jack has some of that white stuff left.

Whoopi gets replaced at the last minute by Billy Crystal!

Other than that, I hope LOTR or In the Bedroom wins best picture, Tom Wilkinson wins Best Actor, and Sissy Spacek wins Best Actress. I also hope LOTR sweeps all the techincal categories it's nominated for, and Memento wins for screenplay.

I'd like to have the academy decide that there WERE no movies on the list that actually qualify for best picture, and a write-in campaign that ends up Memento winning Best Picture. I'd like to see Denzel Washington finally win a Best Actor Oscar too. Other than that I have no interest in this year's academy awards.

I would die a happy man if the presenter of the Best Director told Baz Luhrmann to go long and toss the award to him. The man's a genius for putting MOULIN ROUGE together. Screw Opie, I say http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I would really like the Academy to give Halle Berry, Sissy Spacek and Nicole Kidman all an Oscar for Best Actress......they all deserve it......I just want all 3 to win this year!

To watch Berry and Kidman use the awards on one another after they win them.

Funny you should mention Spacek, Kidman and Berry all winning Best Actress, because I have a feeling that there will be a tie in one of the major categories this year! That would be cool!

I would love it if Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry tie for Best Actress.

Nicole Kidman gave us TWO memorable performances in TWO memorable films. Had a very messy public divorce and this would be the Happy Ending to the year where she made her breakthrough as an artist who doesn't need a #1 box-office star of a husband.

Halle Berry shed her glam image in a breakthrough performance showing her range as an actress. Plus, she's seems too sweet, unless it't an act.

As long as Kidman wins, I'll be happy.

Best Picture - I want to see The Lord of the Rings win. It deserves it.

Best Director - Well, I know this is not going to happen at all, but I'd like to see Ridley Scott win.

Best Actor - No question about it, Denzel Washington deserves this. He has been screwed over for such a long time, and it's about damn time he gets an oscar. Hell, he should have like 4 or 5 oscars already.

Best Actress - Sissy Spacek all the way! Even though Nicole Kidman & Renee Zellweger were great, Spacek was better.
