I was wondering if this hard to find 70's horror movie is any good...Ive read alot of reviews saying its the scariest movie ever...and the plot sounds cool...demons, vampires, ghosts, and some crazy bitch named Jessica...the poster looks like cheese..but everyone over at imdb says its great!..which doesnt mean alot...but everywhere else on the net they all say its super creepy..so for those who have seen it...Is it scary? And what are some scenes or situations that were really scary in the film because no one will talk about those scenes in the review....let me know if its good...maybe i can make it a christmas wish this year...

This is one of my favoirtes from those grand old 70's!

Jessica (Zohra Lampert), her husband and their friend start a new life in the country, but Jessica has a history off mental illness. She begins to believe the area is haunted and grows suspicious of the young woman who has joined them at their house. Co-written by the director with Lee Kalcheim, this is one creepy low budget film. With its paranoia and sense of dread through out, the film relies on its odd atmospheric charm.

The plot is the basic... "is Jessica going crazy or not?"

It is very unsettling nightmare scenario, with little explanation.
Lampert gives a believable perfromance that works, making the climax all the more haunting and extremly unsettling!

A creepy little film, with a classic title!
7/10

Now the bad news...this film was distributed by our "Good Friends" at Paramount....GOD SAVE US! We'll never see this on DVD now! Unless Anchor Bay or Blue Underground step up!!! :D

It's a very well-done psychological horror movie. Like many of its kind in the 70s, it takes a while to get going, but you won't be disappointed. It's a good movie to watch on a rainy afternoon or evening. Some of the creepiest scenes are the ones where Jessica gets freaked out by the locals.

Excellent Movie! 4/5 Stars. Very creepy. Has great atmosphere and is a good combo of a vampire/ghost/pyschological movie all in one.

I agree with everyone else on here. Take it from us schmoes that this a great hidden gem of a movie. If you love early 70's type films then this one is great. Aside from the the hearse that had the peace sign on it the movie is not aged at all. I thought this was an early 80's or late 70's but it is listed as 72.

A lot of things work in this movie with the awesome foggy atmosphere, creepy music, and the wonderful performance by the lead Lamphert. Its a very subtle movie where a lot of the scrares are left to the mind but it will creep you out and get under your skin. The ending was great with it being open ended. You never really know the true outcome. But as mentioned by others is that Zora Lamphert was amazing in this. Her character was very likable and I kinda empathized with her problems.

Definately get this flick, I bought it as a blind buy off of Ebay and it was one of the best blind buys I have made.

9/10

Ick, lets not and say that we did. This movie bored me and it was too damn slow. :(

I wasn't exactly expecting.. ANYTHING. all I knew going in was that it was hard to find and extremely seventies.

SPOILERS.

I hadn't read the back of the box when I got it and the vampire subplot kinda came out of left-field.

END.

The protagonist was really good, though. Its always fun to watch someone fall apart at the seems.
Jessica's teeth were really fucked up, though. Anyone else notice that? Fucked up teeth? anyone?!

Im kind of suprised you didnt like it, ParileseMonster. Granted the pacing isnt all that, "LSJTD" works on a very atmospheric level...That or I am a sucker for those grand ole' 70's! ;)
