Yes-- Freddy's Dead is an unmitigated travesty that never should've been greenlighted. This P.O.S. was directed by Rachel Talalay who was actually the production manager on the first two Elm St. flicks. You'd think that it would've given her a basic understanding of what makes for a good Freddy film. Sadly, this is not the case! Robert Shaye should have had his head examined for allowing this shitfest to see the light of day.
I agree, but then I hate this series. It is by far the worst set of horror films in existence to me. Bad one-liners and stupid deaths do not make a good horror film. This series was full of terrible writing, bad direction and even worse timing. It just wasn't good at all.

I liked Freddy's dead; The Final Nightmare
I liked all of them but this was one of the weekest. Its better then part 2 and part 5.
I give it a 9 but i prefer part 1, part 3, part 4, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
I am surprised it made more money then the first 2 but it is a very enjoyable and funny flick.

I think it is the worst in the series.
For the ending it was meant to be, and at the same time being compared to the rest of the series, yes, it really does look like a pile. When you watch it for a dumb-fun time, it actually delivers.
I don't hate it, I rarely like it, but sometimes Freddy's Dead comes through...

Is that the one where Freddy explodes out of the screen at the end when you wear 3D glasses? Yeah that one sucked big time. I think every sequel sucked except for Part 3. That kicked ass!

I've never seen it and I've read some bad reviews but I still want to see it. It's fun to see filmmaking gone wrong.

Yeah, I'm with this dude. The movie is far from good, but I can't help but enjoy it because it's so damn silly.

ENGLUND himself has stated that they took too many liberties with this entry that just should not have been taken. One thing that probably bothers me more than anything is why they directly reference this 3-D glasses. What was the point of that? "In your dreams they can be anything"? What a bunch of fucking shit! You could have made a 3-D movie without having to directly tell the audience when to put the glasses on you nitwits. It is dumb fun though so I still give it a ten. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

It was quite bad indeed, but nothing outscores New Nightmare for me as "travesty".
