I can't believe that I found this on Netflix. This is the Saturday morning cartoon version of Tales From the Crypt, and watching these three episodes brought back fond memories. I've since been subjugated by the realization that I'm a 20-year-old who rents cartoons off of the Internet (and I wonder why I'm still single). Moving on! While the nostalgia factor was cherubic, the series itself is subpar. The animation is flat, the writing is mostly ridiculous, and the "messages" are syrupy beyond reason. I never thought I'd hear the Cryptkeeper encouraging kiddies to "give books a chance." Ugh. But I should've known better. I don't know what kind of expectations one should have going into this.

Netflix has the cartoon series that started in '93 on ABC, right? I remember a revived animated show that premiered a few years back on CBS, which was unfortunately crappy as it went for a much more light tone compared to the first.

Actually, I think it's the revival series. The opening credits call it the "new" Tales From the Cryptkeeper.

Does anybody else remember the Tales From the Crypt game show?

Yeah, I remember that game show. It was entertaining enough but I don't think it was on for very long.

Game show??? You'll have to fill me in on that one.

Well, it was a show for kids where they'd be in partners (if I recall) and would participate in various Wild And Crazy Kids like antics. The losers got vaporized and then walked off the stage... in that order.

Cheesy stuff, the Cryptkeeper hosted (again if I recall). I also liked what little I saw of the old 90s cartoon.

"Look out! It's Slugzilla!"

Jeese...

Huh. It doesn't ring a bell. Wild and Crazy Kids was fan-fucking-tastic, though.

I hated Wild and Crazy Kids, but I wasn't fond of kid's shows in general. I much prefered actual cartoons. Damn Nickolodean (that's not spelled right... I should know this.... gah! This is going to bug me the rest of the day. Oh well).

DAMN YOU OMAR GOODING!

Heeheeheeheheheeee.....:D :D :D

Yeah, I vaugely remember catching a few episodes of this when it was first on TV. I remember thinking it was so weird that they made a kids` cartoon show out of "Tales From the Crypt".
Needless to say, I wasn`t very impressed with it then, and I doubt I`d like it much more now.

And remember......making a cartoon series based on a decidedly adult-oriented (albeit campy) horror show isn`t a very good idea.........BOYS AND GHOULS!!
