After a very weird scf-fi and fantasy-infested summer at the movies this year, next summer marks the return of good ol' fashioned bullets, explosions and mayhem. I hope next summer returns to the heyday of the 2003 season, with a good lineup: Batman, Star Wars, War of the Worlds, Mr. and Ms. Smith, XXX, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Stealth, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Doom, I am looking forward to it.

As I mentioned before, last summer was somewhat of a disappointment, with the exception of Shrek 2 and Spider-Man 2, two great sequels. Too many repetitive sci-fi and fantasy elements like robots, aliens, werewolves and vampires infested in films such as Harry Potter, Riddick, Alien vs. Predator, Van Helsing and I, Robot. And a few suspense thrillers like the Bourne Supremacy somehow make up the summer from being a wierd snoozefest.

I hope next summer will be great! And I can't wait for late April.

What do you think?
