From the choice Jim Law gives us, (Charisma Carpenter, Snadra Bullock, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mini Driver) I'd probably go with ... hmmm, at a push Sandra Bullock. I must confess though, I tend to think Lucy Lawless would fill out the Golden Wonder-bra very well. I've heard however, that Whedon wants Sarah Michelle Gellar..

Jennifer Connelly has always been my #1 choice for Wonder Woman. :)

Hmm ... from that list, I'll have to go with Catherine Zeta Jones.

I've read that Sandra Bullock was all but cast as Wonder Woman years ago. But she eventually lost interest, and moved on to other projects. Mainly due to the fact that the project was held in developmental hell (much like Spider-Man was) for years.

Carpenter has been vocal about wanting the part for years now. And apparently it seems that Driver is attempting to try her luck as well. I like Driver alright, but I just cannot for the life of me, see her in the role.

I've heard Lawless' name thrown around for awhile now, but I honestly dont know if she's even mentioned anywhere about being the least bit intrested. Not a bad choice though.

I'll pick Zeta Jones. Although Connelly would be my initial choice.

1. Jennifer Connelly
2. Catherine Zeta Jones
3. Lucy Lawless
4. Sandra Bullock
5. Charisma Carpenter
6. Minnie Driver

I think I'll go watch WW season 1 now.

Lynda Carter... now she was PERFECT casting!

I'd personally like to see Carpenter. She's the youngest (she and Driver are about the same age, but I just can't see Driver in the role), and I think that W W needs to be young looking. I'm not implying that the other actresses are too old, but that there's probably going to be some type of origin story or something, and it doesn't hurt that she is younger.

Plus, she's smokin' hot. Although I agree about Connelly. She'd be really nice. But after the HULK wasn't too well recieved, she's probably shying away from comic book films.

Are they actually making a wonder woman movie?
I hope not i'm getting tired of these comic book adaptations and i think this one would turn out worse than cat woman

They're all extremely beautiful, but in regards to the roll... Charisma Carpenter and Sandra Buloock just wouldn't be good, and Catherine Zeta-Jones could do it if she lost the accent in favour of an American one, and Mini Driver... eh... maybe.
I have a better idea - how about the studios just quit while they're ahead, cause this movie will probably bomb even if it is good.

Wonder Woman has got such odd super powers. That would be a tough story to take seriously.

Jennifer Connelly is the best idea on here so far though. You need someone who looks smart.

Jennifer Connelly would be a good choice. She looks the part, at least. Lynda Carter was just a perfect WW. And she was absolutely gorgeous. Still is, even with decades of age. But she also brought the character to life.

Just read this on Moviehole.net...

According to ContactMusic.com, Joss Whedon - yep, seems it's as official as the ring on my finger - wants his former Slayer to put on the Wonder-Bra.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is Director Whedon's first choice to play "Wonder Woman" in the recently announced pic.

Funnily enough, another "Buffy" club member is also on Whedon's wish-list to pilot the Invisible Jet.

"Joss has told the studio that Sarah is his first choice followed by Charisma [Carpenter]. Sarah expressed an interest, but the producers are more interested in Charisma because she is less well known."

Carpenter, who worked with Whedon on both "Buffy" and "Angel", expressed her interest in playing the DC comic book heroine a few months back. Some said her "Playboy" appearance had hurt her chances though.

Maybe Producer Joel likes the fold-outs, eh?

Guess we'll find out shortly.

... I don't like the idea of Gellar playing Wonderwoman, but I've never been a big fan.

For some reason I just can't see Gellar as Wonder Woman, and I was an avid, avid Wonder Woman fan as a girl. I think Sandy Bullock would be soooo perfect IMHO....

Wonder Woman has to be two things. Tall, and Hot. Sara is hot, but not tall. Bullock is tall, but NOT hot. Charisma is tall AND hot.... I'm voting for CC. She could use a big role. ROLE... not pole... pervs. So I say... CC. :D

I submit for your approval, a new contestant...

Tsianina Joelson (pronounced Cha-neena)

She has acted, and she's the youngest contestant, and she has definitely got the look, probably better than anyone. Here she is...

I previously said Carpenter, but now I'm torn between she and Tsianina here. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I can see her as Wonder Woman - a lot more than SMG, that's for sure. Jennifer Connelly would make a great choice too. I suppose the choice will depend on the tone of the film - which I would hope falls in the same category as X-Men.

A wonderwoman movie would totally suck. Comic book movies these days are just getting worse and worse. Catwoman sucked balls and I recently saw the full trailer for Elektra and i almost had to shoot myself halfway through. Wonderwoman is going to suck just as much as these two

I'd LOVE to see Jennifer Connelly as WW, but she may e deemed too "old". I'd go with Angelina Jolie, but after Tomb Raiders failures, I can't see her taking another franchise film. But seeing as how WW is 80% naked, the budget covering her tattoos would rival the bank blown on Waterworld.

:D

To me, there can be no other choice than my Jennifer. She's elegant, refined, intelligent, reasonably tall, raven-haired, beautiful, and when she talks, people pay attention.

Imagine if she gets in the best shape of her life ... WOW ... she IS the Amazon Queen. As shown in the pic above somewhere, Jennifer Connelly actually LOOKS like Wonder Woman!

Another thing is that she in the same kinda bracket as Christian Bale, and she gets cast as the love interest opposite guys his age all the time. So to cast her as his contemporary in Wonder Woman will be no big stretch at all. Age shouldnt be a question.

More reasons why I believe Jennifer Connelly would be a great choice. Here are a couple of things to note:

She definitely has an interesting ethnic mix as she is part Irish, Polish, Norwegian, and Russian
At 5'8, she definitely has the height (unlike SMG), and has the skillset as an athletic swimmmer and gymnast. These are her mediums of personal exercise.
And last but not least, she's just an amazing actress. As evidenced in so many films now.

As for Angelina Jolie? Well, she may be able to play Diana. Certainly better than some other names I've seen thrown around. As far as her tattoo's are concerned, I remember New Line did a great job covering Mark Walberg's (spelling?) tattoo's in "Boogie Nights". The same can probably be done with Angelina.

Personally, I think Angelina would be better suited as the WW villian Cheetah. She would totally OWN that role.
Come to think of it, a Wonder Woman film with both Jennifer Connelly, and Angelina Jolie would be really, really nice.

Cause IMO, as good as Angelina and others might be in the role, I can only see Jennifer Connelly as the true successor to the beautiful Lynda Carter.

Never thought of that... Connelly vs. Jolie, Diana vs. Cheetah... while it wouldn't be a "license to print money" like the Superman film will be, it would be interesting enough. I just think that now in the wake of Elektra's failure at the Boxoffice, the studios may think that a FEMALE-led action/adventure film may not be a wise business move (Tomb-Raider=Failure, Catwoman=Failure) - Granted, Elektra is a B or C-level character, and WW is part of the DC Trinity. I just don't know if it will ever get made.

Maybe WB is holding off to see how Aeon Flux performs the boxoffice.

I had the same idea once I found out Elektra bombed at the box office, Kal-El76. Waiting to see how Aeon Flux does certainly seems plausible. And maybe Joss will direct X3 now?
Last I heard, WB were still actively pursuing Joss for WW. So are FOX for X3. But from what I've read, WB seems more intrested in WHO he can bring (Gellar?), than WHAT he can bring to this.

Here are some more random ramblings on the subject
I am the BIGGEST DC Supporter on Earth... BUT... SMG cast as Wonder Woman would guarentee my moneys absence in the Theatrical and DVD market. First off, there is NO WAY they'll use ths costume from the comic book or TV Show (after seeing how they RAPED Aeon Flux's look), so there'd be NOTHING to go and "SEE", for I think SMG is pretty "Middle of the Road", look-wise. Wonder Woman is the perfect blend of several hardlined concepts, and Sarah Michelle Gellar would completely negate them. They need a WOMAN (SMG is a girl, no matter her age) who is at LEAST 5-10, mix Ethnicity, and... HOT. In a perfect world, it WOULD be Connelly. Come to think of it, Monica Bellucci would be toight as WW as well... If they had enough $$$ to digitally remove her "I smoke 8 packs a day" wrinkles.
On the Whedon subject, I am afraid of Whedon, for Firefly was very very weak, Buffy was nothing big (to me) and his work on Astonishing X-Men is "ok" (Grant Morrisions run has been sadly forgotten). I have NO faith in Whedon whatsoever. Putting the X-Men franchise in his hands would kill it completely. I have a feelign that WB is going to wait and see how Batman Begins, Superman Returns and Serenity do before giving WW over to him.

"Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong"
