Just got done listening to a low quality leak of this album.

To give an opinion, you'll have to pick me up from the floor. Mother of god, this album is godly. The last song (a 30 minute EPIC) is just guitargasm.

I left the typos in as to show how excited I was when I heard that the album is out there somewhere. I'm looking foward to this release with every fiber of my being. I remember hearing one song of it live many months ago and I about shit my pants with joy.

Actually, those aren't high quality.

The rip was from 96k if I'm not mistaken, it just got saved as 128 and whatnot later on, but the original source is therefore kinda shitty.

Nothing horribly noticeable, but still.

It's EPIC as fuck, and fortunately it doesn't devolve into mindless silence with slight soloing (like what killed Cicatriz ESP) until a long, long way in.

I liked Cicatriz ESP, even though you are right on the nothingness for about 4 minutes during the song.

I haven't heard Cassandra Gemini yet, but I'll be listening to it today. The rest of the album is awesome though.

I just heard "Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus" & "The Widow", and am about halfway through "L'via L'viaquez".

A little pretentious at times, but it's otherwise good overall so far.

So, just finished listening to it.

Here's how I'd rate the tracks individually:

Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus - 9/10
The Widow - 8/10
L'via L'viaquez - 9/10
Miranda, That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore - 9/10
Cassandra Gemini - 9/10

Overall - 9/10.

Pretentious at times, (some songs last longer than they should - "Cygnus" comes to mind) but it's overall pretty good. "Cassandra Gemini" actually bored me at certain points, but it's great for the most part.

Overall, it's something I would buy when it comes out.

I dare say there may not be a better album than this coming out next year. The Mars Volta has never dissapointed me over the years and this looks like they are going to stick with that tradition.
