Blade: Trinity writer/director and Batman Begins writer David Goyer has committed to write, produce and direct a feature adaptation of DC Comics' The Flash for Warner Bros. Pictures, says Variety.

Created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, the Flash first appeared in DC Comics late in 1939. He's the alter ego of chemistry student Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick, an aspiring athlete whose exposure to heavy water fumes gives him the ability to move at incredible speeds.

"'Flash' is my favorite of the properties," said Goyer, "I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas."

I could go either way with this one, seeing how many comic book heroes are getting butchered.

He already ruined "Blade: Trinity," we don't need him ruining The Flash.

Duke nukem is right. The man needs to stop directing, and dont give me any of this "..well blade 2 was hard to top bullshit" Goyer needs to stick to the craft of writing. he's a great writer and thats where his strengh lies(except when he is directing also) but yeah he really really needs to not direct another picture, blade three could have been great (with a litte scripte tune up and a better villian) which has me thinking of a great storyline for a fourth.

The new FLASH film has potential, but jeo's right ... it'll probably get butchered.

Not crazy about Goyer, but the casting for the lead role doesnt sound too bad....
