I was shown this site where if you complete some promotional offers you can get DVDs for free. I can't participate in it(Only U.S. residents), but I've heard that it is legit and people have gotten DVDs. I'm not spamming, but I thought this was pretty cool. Maybe a schmoe here can check it out and see if it's real.

EDIT: I noticed that the company running this site is the same as the one who runs the Free Ipods site which is very real since I got mine. So I assume this is legit also.

Hey I was just wondering how you got that Free Ipod because I went to their site and it said "US Only". What country do you live in?
Also any schmoes know any of these sites that do Free DVD's or anything for Canadian residents?

I did this also and I never got my Ipod. I tried to get some information on the company but alas there is nobody to email or call. You also have to sign up for things that you will end up being charged for should you not cancel in time. It's a waste of time. I have heard that this company is over 6 months behind shipping whatever ipods they owe. Sham Sham Sham.

Crap, I'm a US resident who isn't in the US right now, and they can tell that my IP address isn't there so I can't sign up.

Please explain what you did? Did you do the offer and get 5 people to sign up through you and also complete one?
The shipping times is a huge problem for the company since they supposedly have 10 000-20 000 ordered. They sped up shipping times by getting it straight from the manufacturer but it still slowed things down due to the great demand.
Please, PM me on what happened with you not getting it. I got mine within 2-3 weeks of ordering it.
I am Canadian, you see way back when it started the system could be cheated. All you needed was a U.S. address. But now you can't cheat it anymore.
Please, if you want any questions about the iPod or any other "free" things, PM me. This topic is about free DVDs.

*sigh*
It is NOT a scam. I repeat. NOT a scam.
You see, they get offers from companies like AOL, eBay, New York Times, etc. to give to people. When a person completes this offer, the company goes "Thank you for getting us a customer. Here, have some money." The company pockets some of this money and gives the rest to the person who did it. This money is transferred into points on the site. Get so many points, and you can afford a DVD. Order it and they give it to you.
Just to note, the company running the site has been part of the Better Business Bureau for a few years, which is a Bureau for actual businesses that don't scam people.
And maybe you should come up with a better reason for it being a scam other than 'some aol crap.'
And mshulman5, still haven't gotten that PM about your free ipod experience that turned out sour

This doesn't require referrals though
