Some of my recent favorites are Hellboy and The Punisher. Especially Punisher's opening theme is very good.
Of course you can't forget the best soundtrack of all time, Once Upon A Time in the West. Also The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is awesome.
-A Hard Day's Night
-Let it Be
-Help!
-Magical Mystery Tour
-Rushmore
-The Royal Tenenbaums

Good soundtracks:
-Mortal Kombat (<3 the movie when I was younger; Orbital - Halcyon On and On alone is worth the cd)
-ESOTSM (brilliant movie and equally brilliant OST)
-Garden State (^what ESOTSM was)
that's all that I can think of right now.

damn... i forgot waynes world and dazed and confused...
For once, I agree with the Count. THE CROW is the best soundtrack I've heard. This is one of the few soundtracks I care for. Several big acts performed on this soundtrack:
Stone Temple Pilots
Helmet
Nine Inch Nails
The Cure (performing my favorite of their songs)
The Rollins Band
Pantera
Rage Against the Machine
There is also an orchestral soundtrack composed by Graeme Revell, which in my opinion is equally good.

I think the Underworld soundtrack is the best soundtrack in the world. (I'm a fan of industrial-type music).
Other soundtracks I own are Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocolypse (which are really good, even though they are just a random compilation of rock songs that aren't in the movie. Except the score songs by Manson from the first movie which are awesome.) Another random but good mix of rock songs is The Punisher.
I also have Blade II and Blade: Trinity, which are pretty good rap and techno, especially Blade II.
SAW is good too (if I heard the soundtrack before seeing the movie I would think it's the scariest shit in the world, however the movie doesn't live up to Charlie Clouser's great score).
Fight Club also has an awesome soundtrack in my opinion.

Did you hear that Pink Floyd refused to let Kubrick use excerpts from 'Atom Heart Mother' during the film?
Like many others, I am a fan of John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra's soundtrack to STAR WARS. If you're a fan of the films, or even the genre, then the soundtrack will probably be a lot of fun for you.
I'm also a bit biased because I prefer instrumental soundtracks usually and I'm not at all a fan of pop music that saturates most soundtracks.

Lately, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Garden State both had amazing soundtracks.
And Aimee Mann's Magnolia is incredible stuff.

Saw Garden State last night (great movie) and immediatlely upon returning home downloaded the soundtrack. This is one of the most intelligent concoctions of songs i've ever heard grace a movie. Whilst watching I was constantly taken aback by how integral the songs were to the ebb and flow of the emotional undercurrents of the movie. The script for the movie was excellent. The direction was well handled by first timer Braff. The acting throughout was perfectly nuanced. But without the soundtrack I believe that the movie would have lost a lot of it's power. The only movies that immediately sping to mind that rely on the soundtrack to this degree are the movies of David Lynch and Good Will Hunting.
