I personally like it a lot. It looks better than his last couple of attemps. *Anything Else* Will Ferrel is always funny, and it'll be nice to see him try something new for a change.
I Heart Woody Allen.
I get psyched for any of Woody's projects, and this one is no different. Looks like it should be a winner.
Will Ferrell and Woody Allen working together...that's just genius.

Yeah, it's kinda like Jesus and chocolate cake working together...wait...bad analogy...damn.
Umm...this will rock.

that would be nice if he could get back to his great films like Manhattan, Purple Rose of Cairo etc. I keep watching old Allen films and Im struck by just how great they are. Truly verbal wordplay one can feast on.
Anything is better than Anything Else, Jade Scorpion, Small Time Crooks, Hollywood Ending

Opened yesterday in Italy, reviews are mixed-positive so far. Seeing it on Boxing Day, I'm not expecting too much but you never know.

Agreed.
I have no idea what's going on in the trailer, but the word is decent enough so far.

At least Woody is not in this one, right?
I'm the biggest Woody Allen fan, pre-Small Time Crooks. I kind of like Crooks and Jade Scorpion, as light comedies like some of his old ones like Bananas. But Hollywood and Anything sucked big time. And like Clint Eastwood, Woody is just too old to act in his own films.
Sweet and Lowdown was his last very good film. Bullets over Broadway was brilliant. And the last good one he starred in was Deconstructing Harry, which I like for its crudeness.

It looks good to me. I am a pretty good sized Woody Allen fan and I might check this out.

Now, now, I'm on some special little pills that make me relax even in the face of Woody-criticism (snicker).
It's cool that the dude liked pre-Small Time Crooks Woody Allen, that's the best stuff anyway.

Is it a "dramedy" or is it a "coma"? Oh wait, a "coma" is something you get after you've seen too many Woody Allen films.
:p

he hit the nail on the head. Allen was brilliant pre-Small Time Crooks. And then after that he kind of stepped off a cliff

Saw it a month ago. it's pretty good, nothing great but I would have to agree with the "best since Deconstructing Harry" comments. Ferrell is good doing Woody's alter-ego, Mitchell is very good in both her roles, and there are some nice supporting turns, especially by Chloe Sevigny. I liked the comedic storyline more, the dramatic part was a little exaggerated.
A solid **1/2.
