i was wondering....

would it have been better to the Halloween series if it had went the way it was intended......you know, having like, every movie tell a different story....

i mean, do some of you wish that it would have went like that, or are you glad that it went the way it did?

i kinda wish that it would have weant a different way, telling different stories with each entry, and maybe going back to Michael every now and then....like have part 4 the same, then tell a different story with 5, a different one with 6, have H20 the same as it is now, then have 8 tell a new story, then have 9 have a new story also, i think it would have been really cool, a little confusing, but still cool i think

so what are your thoughts?

plus, i know this should probably go into the Halloween Franchise section but i thought it would get more responses here.

Yes. If "Halloween III: Season of The Witch" wasn't such a disasterous flop, than maybe we might have a better franchise on our hands. An anthology series, where every year or every other year, we would have a new scary Halloween story.

Lord knows how much I enjoy each and every H-film in their own way. I even enjoy HIII on its own terms. But, if the "Halloween" name was used for an anthology franchise instead, than we might have a better consistency of films. Surely, the H-films have had more ups and downs than John Travolta's career. But, I still like them (and John Travolta's "bad" movies - "Staying Alive" rocks! :D ).

I'm okay with the current status of the franchise; I'm really looking forward to H9. But, if I could trade in the alternating, messed up storyline for a much better series of separate films about scary Halloween stories...I would. I don't know about H4 and H20 possibly still existing among the other differeciating Halloween stories we could have gotten; if HIII had been a bigger hit, than Moustapha Akkad would never have resorted in returning the Michael Myers story. They probably would have preferred a new, original story for the following year.

But, all of this is only hypothetical. I'm happy enough with the H-movies and will continue looking forward to H9.

i think they should have kept with the original intention of creating a different story for each installment every year...im one of the few that seems to really like Season Of The Witch and its a far more interesting story than the recycled plot for 4-8, they could have done something great with the series but instead decided to make the same slasher film over and over again all of which (4-8) sucked
