I remember watching this show every chance I got when it was on regular TV, and I'm still pissed that they took it off. Unfortunately, I don't have cable and Blockbuster has pisspoor selections of movies. But now through the magic that is online rentals, I can watch my favorite rotting corpse in his decrepit basement.
My question to you Horror schmoes is, which episodes were the best? Its been so long, the only ones I recall is the Demi Moore episode, the Lea Thompson episode, and Beverly D'Angelo episode.

"And All Through the House" is a personal favorite.

The great thing about this show was that not many episodes were worthless. Almost every episode has something to offer. Thompson's episode was great because she played a hooker... where and how dod you go wrong with that?
"And All Through the House" is a good one, freakiest Santasploitation ever.
There was one where a guy used a love potion on this hot chick to geti n bed with her, then he got bored (???) having sex. There's a lot of surprise and the ending was hilarious. Great stuff.
However, my personal favorite is "And All Through the House."

Oh God, this is one of my all-time favorite shows. I'm itching for a DVD box set. There are so many incredible episodes. I was just thinking about a certain one the other night. I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it was pretty creepy. It involved an ice cream truck driver that would put on little shows for the kids out of one window of the truck, and sell treats from the other. Turns out that the driver was a set of conjoined twins. In the end, one of them ends up getting murdered and the other is forced to sell ice cream with a decaying corpse still attached to him. I'd really like to see that one again. Anyways, some of my favorites are "And All Through the House," (which is probably my #1), "Came the Dawn," "House of Horror," "Split Second," and there was a really creepy one with Morton Downey, Jr. that I've always loved, though the title seems to allude me.
Hey, was it just me, or did the entire British season suck major ass? I didn't know what the hell they were thinking, filming the entire season in England. I think I liked maybe one or two episodes that entire season. Funnily enough, that proved to be the death of the show because it was canceled at the conclusion of the season. Ah, well. I'd love a revival.
Anyways, gotta go pop in my Tales from the Crypt: Have Yourself a Scary Little Christmas CD now.

OOOOOOOOOOH great post!
My alltime favorite was the one with Morton Downey Jr. He played the annoying talk show host that went in the creepy old haunted house only with his cameraman for a show. Some guy had supposedly killed his entire family years earlier. Cool part at the end where
**SPOILER**
hes walking through the dark and the light from his camera shows the camera man hanging there dead so its all like "whos holding the camera"
I described it all crappy but it kicked ass!:D

my fave ia also And allthrough the house...Lary Drake is a scary santa...
Also liked The Secret with Larry Drake, Cutting Cards with Lance Henriksen and that episode with Roger Daltry and Steve Buscemi...
Come to think of it , there is only a few episodes that were boring...
I have to watch my Tales from the Crypt box-set on DVD (region 2) now...It has 32 episodes on four discs :)
(see another tales from the crypt post which episodes it has)

And All Through the House is a personal fav, I love Christmas horror.
I also dug The Cold War with Ewan MacGregor as a bored zombie, and the one where Faye Grant sleeps with the cable guy and her husband catches them and literally switches their bodies.

The episode with loudmouth Morton Downey Jr. was indeed badass.
I'm going to be getting off of netflix, the "Robert Zemeckis" collection of tales from the crypt episodes that he directed. Should be fun.
Did anyone ever see the cartoon episode? I think it revolved around the three little pigs, it was narrated by the crypt keeper. It was strange.

Yep, I remember that one! Bobcat Goldthwait provided some of the voices too. It was an interesting episode indeed.

My favorite is "The Secret" also starring that brilliant Larry Drake.

Does anyone remember the one called "Surprise Party"
The reason I ask is because like 4 days ago I found out my aunts best friend used to be an actress and was in that episode. I BARELY seem to remember it. Anyone else?

Another brilliant episode I forgot to mention: "Three's a Crowd." Does anyone remember that one? It involves a couple on a trip given to them as an anniversary present by a close friend. The husband, an alcohol abuser, is convinced the two have begun an affair and

violently murders his wife. In the end, he drags her dead body to the cabin next door, only to find there's a congratulatory party waiting for him. His wife is pregnant. Banners reading "You're Going to Be a Daddy!" hang above while he drops her lifeless body to the ground. A brilliant episode and one of my favorites.

"Three's A Crowd" was probably the best twist in the series. Damn chilling.
***SPOILERS***
I loved the episode with Tim Roth as the artist who paints pictures of those he kills. And this other one...I can't remember the name of it, but a guy meets this loner gothic chick wearing a weird white mask at a costume party. They end up going back to her place and ride the hobby horse, yadda yadda. But it turns out her mask is actually her face, and she cuts off the faces of every guy she brings home.
Anyway, there's this one scene that really sticks in my mind, where she's gotten out of bed to get something, and when the guy eventually wakes up, he sees this black man, one of the girl's victims, standing at the foot of his bed, with his mouth open wide and trembling like crazy. I always have a hard time going to sleep after seeing that episode.

Yes! That's another great one, also one of my favorites. There are so many incredible episodes of that series, practically every one is a favorite.

Wasn't there an episode with a mummy? I vaguely remember it was like this professor had it in his house, and this geeky chick was helping this jock with History. Anyway, the professor and the jock lock the girl in this Egyptian room with the mummy, and the mummy is going to kill her, but she convinces it that she is like his long-lost love or something, then gets it to kill the professor and jock.
BTW, thanks everyone for your response. From the posts, I think that "And all through the house", "The Secret", and whatever the Morton Downey Jr. episode is, are the first ones I should check out.

Hey, I found this great site that has a listing of all 93 episodes of Tales from the Crypt! Also, the Morton Downey Jr. episode, in the haunted house, is called "Television Terror".
Heres the link to the site: http://www.geocities.com/imb210/index.html

Great site! It's got the original artwork and everything.
Ahh, "Only Skin Deep" was the face episode. And of course, it has the trembling man in the background...shiver me timbers. I'd forgotten that Miguel Ferrer was in several of these episodes. While the ones he was in didn't stand out particularly, he made them plenty worthwhile.

How I miss this show. Hopefully the rumour that it's coming out on DVD this year is true. It sounds somewhat authentic since John Kassir said that he recorded a documentary for a DVD set. But anyway my favorite episodes are:
Korman's Kalamity, Television Terror, Only Skin Deep, Three's a crowd, Television Terror, The Thing from the Grave(can't remmember the exact title but it had Terri Hatcher and Miguel Ferrer) and there's more but that's all that I can think of right now.

i have this on DVD, its great!
"All Through the House" is definatly a great episode, but my all time fav is this one (this is posted from the site mentioned above):
Comes The Dawn (Originally aired on 1/11/95)
Starring:
Bruce Payne, Vivian Wu, Susan Tyrrell and Michael Ironside
An ex Army Colonel and his Sargeant friend travel deep into the Alaskan wilderness to poach grizzly bears. They hire a beautiful woman to be their guide, and she leads them to an abandoned weather station in search of the bears. Once there, she attempts to turn the two men against each other but fails. When they prepare to harm her, she disappears leaving them alone. After hearing strange noises, the men search the place and find a little girl. The little girl turns out to be a vampire, in fact, the building is full of them. The Colonel is killed by them, but the Sargeant escapes back to the hotel and believes that he can keep them at bay until sunrise. Sadly for him, the beautiful guide informs him that since they're in Alaska, the sun won't be rising for another two months, and the vampires take him.
bad ass episode man!
