I cannot wait for the Goblet of Fire! Hopefully it's at LEAST as long as the Chamber of Secrets (preferably longer) because if it's to stay true to the book then it should be somewhat long.10 more months...

Check out the Set Preview from Garth @DarkHorizons:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/setprev3.php

Sounds promising.

On a different subject: I haven't read the books but I've heard they are getting thicker and thicker and 1 of the most frequently complaints I've read on Azkaban was that it skipped a lot of subplots too keep the pace going. Since I haven't read the books that's fine by me since I don't know what I'm missing but I can understand that people don't like that.

GoF has a running time of 150 minutes which is simillar to the previous three so my question: Are they going to pull it off or is 150 minutes just too short to do the book justice?? Apparently the studio did consider to split the movie in 2, a la KILL BILL-style, but Newell declined and sad he could cut enough to put it all in 1 movie.

I think that from a studio point of view they should have split the movie since it would have brought up the most money because both movies would have gone above the 200 million barrier. From an artistic point of view I can't really say because I didn't read the books. I do have one thought which I think they should do and that is bring out two different DVD's , LOTR TE and EE-style, where they can ad the additional footage to make it a 3 or 3,5 or 4 hour movie.

Any thoughts??

I never thought I'd get in to reading the books, but a friend persuaded me, and I'm almost at the end of Goblet Of Fire (Haven't bothered reading the first three, because I've seen the films).

While I roughly know how the ending turns out, (from what people have been telling me) it is entirely clear to me that this will be, by far, the most cinematic of all the films so far.

It has an extremely engaging story - Very mysterious, which slowly builds through a myriad of twists and turns. But most importantly, we finally have the face of the villain in all his glory - Voldemort. This is where the others, in terms of the films, went wrong, but by no fault of their own.

There was no clear end with the other films. They kind of went limp in the final act, but this has a conclusion of sorts that is satisfying, simply because all that has been building in the first three films is suddenly becoming clear. Characters are being fleshed out (as is their place within the wider story), story arcs are becoming much clearer, but there is still a sense that things are far from over for all our characters.

And with another two books to go, things are about to get much more interesting.

The first three films are all good, the fourth should be great.

Does anybody know when we will see the teaser coming out?? Too which movies where the previous teasers attached??

The Chronicles of Narnia teaser is set to debut in April, probably attached to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (See: www.narniaweb.com ) and King Kong's teaser is set for the Cannes Film festival I read somewhere. Since both movies are released after GoF, when will we see a teaser???

Nah, I think they can manage it just fine. 150 minutes is more than enough for a complex story, you make it too complex, you lose people. Some subplots are all right to have in a novel, but don't work in a movie and just slow the pace down, so obviously they'll have to axe those, and then if they can just stick to what's necessary to tell an engaging story and tell it well, 150 minutes sounds perfect, long enough, but not too long.

TRAILER ^^^^

Does this remind anyone of Sin City? (http://www.mugglenet.com/viewer/?image_location=/gof/gofposterhuge.jpg)

POSTER^^^^

 omfg, the teaser is awesome. This movie looks even better than I would have imagined from reading the book. The dragon looks good, the mermaids look good and the maze looks...big (maybe too big :D)

My only problem is with the montage at the beginning of the trailer showing each of them in the other 3 movies. :( Other than that, this traielr is awesome and I can't wait for the full trailer.

Teaser looks really solid (The Dragon part of it looks absolutely ridiculous)

So far, I've been enjoying each movie more than the last, so hopefully the trend continues

We have less than three weeks for the movie to come out. Lets get some buzz on.

I am going to be seeing it on day one at the IMAX theaters in Orange County, California. Anyone with me on that? 70 foot screen. Award winning sound system. I'm there.

This is easily one of the more intense books in the series. Theres a lot of ground to cover and I'm hoping for the best. If Mike Newell is successful, then this will surely be an awesome film.

I just rewatched the first 3 Harry Potter films with my girlfriend and now shes hooked too! We are going to go see this movie opening weekend for sure.

Now I just need to get her to read the books. *evil laughter*

I'm actually resisting my urges to go open Book 4 and start reading. But I'll wait until after I see the movie to reread the book.

I didn't like HP3 (the movie) a whole lot.

I saw it before I read the series and I felt that it was missing pertinent information. After I read the book, I appreciated it a lot more.

I am really hoping that HP4 won't disappoint.

Yah, it had been a while since I read the books. I started reading when the big media hype around book 4. So that was... *thinking back* around several years before the movie came out. So I had time to forget all the small stuff and just enjoy the movie without noticing what was missing.

Just out of curiosity was anyone a fan of Harry Potter before book 4? Personally I had never heard of it until that time when Harry Potter became a sort of tickle-me-elmo-ish media hype. Except unlike elmo Harry Potter has lasted a very long time.

**Spoilers HP4**

Below is an excellent preview of HP4. Be careful though, b/c there are actually major spoilers for the film. It is directed primarily at the audience that reads the books.

There is an excellent preview here: http://www.tribute.ca/player/enhancePlayer.asp?isWM=1&isQT=0&filePat

I saw Goblet of Fire this morning. Liked it better than the first two movies, though I don't think it's quite up to Prisoner of Azkaban's standard.

That's basically what I'm expecting from this movie. I'll probably love it (as I have all of the movies), just not as much as the third one, which I consider to be far and away the best of the series thus far...
