People! What's wrong with you? Everyone likes Total Recall here. I consider it to be the worst Ahnuld film so far, not counting Batman. It didn't have a plot, the twists in the (not existing) plot were ridiculous and overexaggerated(sp?), the acting was terrible(well what can you expect from Verhoeven), and I don't mean Arnie's "acting". The make-up effects were there just so they could have some nice make-up effects in the film. The message and "lesson" were simplifyed to death, and if they had underlined it any more, you could've actually seen the words underlined. And the ending, the last few scenes constructed possibly one of the worst endings in film history. And just to make sure that I didn't like it, put in unbelievable amounts of unnecessary and revolting violence. And since it's Paul Verhoeven, there has to be some tits, in this case three.

Cyclonus
03-12-2002, 12:23 PM
Well, I admit it was too violent, but it has one of the best storylines of any Arnie film, and his acting was better than average!

Philip Marlowe
03-20-2002, 02:52 PM
who "ME", just beinning honest most of his movies arn't so great but there entertaining if you check your brain at the door. I was a huge fan as a kid up until about the age of 16. There much better stuff out there and besides I gave him four movies with a B grade and up which i'd say makes him pretty good. but most is just average to me.

Hercules in New York 2/10, a good laugh if nothing else, gotta love the dubbing
Stay Hungry 6/10, don't remember much from it, should see again
Conan the Barbarian 9/10
Conan the Destroyer 6/10, a good way to kill a potential franchise
The Terminator 9/10
Red Sonja 4/10, closer to a cameo role and the movie stinks
Commando 6/10, a very crap movie but still classic Arnold
Raw Deal 6/10, decent entertainment but barely rememberable
Predator 9/10
The Running Man 9/10, been a personal favorite since I was a kid
Red Heat 6/10, typical Walter Hill flick from the 80's, not much more to say

Total Recall 10/10, his best in my opinion
Kindergarten Cop 7/10
Terminator 29/10
Last Action Hero 9/10
True Lies 8/10

That's what I was thinking! T2=C+? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/eek.gif
Anyway, I grew up on his movies and this is what I've seen:
The Terminator (not a bad movie at all but I saw it too long after I had seen the 2nd so I think some of the impact was gone and I just don't love it like I do the classic sequel. I will want to re-watch this sometime in the near future.
Commando
Predator (I don't love this film nearly as much as feel I should have either but in what I believe is not a coincidence, this along with Terminator I did not grow up watching so it wasn't a childhood favorite to begin with)
The Running Man (classic movie for me and my brother which I've seen MANY times, gets a bad wrap from nearly all non-arnold fans and movie fans in general and also strays quite a bit from the King novel which I finally read a few months back, its still great and there are so many classic lines from both Arnold and the host Damon)
Twins (seems like I've seen this movie the most somehow)
Total Recall (very cool)
Kindergarten Cop (hilarious with the kids in the class)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1 of my all-time fav.)
Last Action Hero
True Lies
Junior
Eraser
Jingle All the Way
Batman & Robin
End of Days
The Sixth Day (kind of dissapointing)

First, I think Arnold Schwarzenegger is a god. He is my third favorite actor behind Leonardo DiCaprio and Edward Norton. He is amazing. I love him. Here is my own Oak checklist....

Hercules In New York-6/10 One of those fun cheap films. Really bad, but still fun.

Pumping Iron-7/10 A great documentary. Hilarious stuff.

Conan The Barbarian-9/10 A wonderful action film. Awesome action, and great effects.

Conan The Destroyer-7/10 Not as great as the original, but still deadly fun.

Ther Terminator-10/10 My fourth favorite film of all-time. A superb thriller.

Red Sonja-8/10 Good action. Fun time.

Commando-5/10 One of Schwarzenegger's worst films. It has some good action, but too many boring patches, and they screwed up in the writing department.

Raw Deal-7.5/10 Cool plot. Great action.

Predator- My 8th favorite film of all-time. Amazing thrills, gore, and some colorful fun characters.

The Running Man-3/10 Arnold's worst. Bad action and Bad plot.

Red Heat-7/10 Cool action. Creepy as hell villian.

Twins-10/10 HILARIOUS! I was in a stitch through the whole film. So damn funny. I could not believe it. Arnold is an untapped comedic power, and DeVito was equally funny.

Total Recall-8/10 Cool violence and action. Arnold rocked the house in this one.

Kindergarten Cop-7/10 Funny and action-paced. Not great, but damn good.

T2: Judgement Day-10/10 My 3rd favorite film of all-time. Cool effects, stories, action, and acting.

Last Action Hero-9/10 Cool film. Tons of action, and Arnold plays such a cool character. Jack Slater f*cking rules.

True Lies-8/10 Funny and thrilling. Cool flick overall.

Junior-6/10 Pretty funny, but not up to the par of other Arnold comedies.

Eraser-10/10 Awesome! I mean Arnold wrestles gators, flies around in the air searching AFTER his parachute, and fights cold criminals with hyperelectricity weapons.

Jingle All The Way-7.5/10 A great comedy. One of the top Christmas films at the video rental shop.

T2-3D: Journey Across Time-10/10 Amazing. Not only is the 3D experience of this Universal Studios ride amazing, it actually pushes the "Terminator" series forward. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Batman & Robin-6.5/10 Not that bad. Its the worst Batman flick, but it has some cool action. Arnold was great as Mr. Freeze.

End of Days-7/10 Great horror. Tons of action. Excellent ride.

The 6th Day-8/10 Cool sci-fi. Cool acting. Good effects.

Collateral Damage-6/10 Awesome action, but weak plot. Okay.

***

I must say since the guy was born back in 1947, he is still going strong. Arnold Rocks! Can't wait until T3: Rise of the Machines hits theatres. I also hope the WB let Schwarzenegger and John Millius make a proper Conan sequel. Go Arnold!
