Haute Tension...Ive seen it, and so should you...

Im sure this has been on posted on the message board many times, but I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to check this kick-ass movie out.

If you go to Ethaicd.com you can buy Haute Tension for only 7.50. The version is Region 5 though and I can only get it to play on my computer DVD.

Its well worth buying it to see what all the hype is about. And it definitely lives up to the hype by having some of the most gruesome kills ive seen in awhile. (of course I spit on your grave's schlong-chopping is the one that make me the most nauseous)

overall i thought the film was excellent, some great gore (although not as bad as id heard) and excellent performances and direction. the only problem i had with it was the ending which was a complete letdown

Possibly the most overrated movie of 2004. Typical slasher flick with a few twists here but nothing too exciting. Predictable ending, too. 5/10.

Typical slashers aren't as well acted or as beautifully shot as Haute Tension.

Well acted? The only thing required of them was to do one of two things: look frightened, or scream. As far as settings go - I'll agree that it was shot in pretty scenery, but as far as being beautiful...no.

Ah, well. I didn't expect a volte-face. I loved it and would rank it as one of the top five movies of 2004. I'm sorry you didn't get the enjoyment out of it that I did.

Yea Skysaber! Welcome to a very exclusive club. You are only the second person I've seen that disliked that movie. Mind you, you liked it 2x more than I did, but still.

I agree that the twist was not necessary but I guess the director/writers wanted to somehow turn the movie into a smart thriller, like some M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie... Something like Unbreakable, but not that crap The Village.

I really don't know how I feel about this movie. On one hand It's a great slasher flick with gruesome killings & crap-your-pants suspense, on the other the ending falls apart... if you look back on several scenes it JUST DOESN'T WORK!:mad: I defy anyone to clearly explain the ending, good luck

What I took from it was that all the events in the movie were the fractured recollection of the main character and the confusion arose from the two warring halves of her personality.

8/10. Good movie. Not the masterpiece of horror that I've been reading about for the past 12 months, but still. It's a pretty damn good movie.
