"You guys wanna hear a funny joke my grandpa told me?"
"No."
"Ok, so this family walks into an talent agency. it's a mother, father, their
son and daughter and a little baby. The father says to the talent agent:
Sir, our family has an amazing act. we know if you would let us perform
it for you, you would want to sign us. and the talent agent says:
sorry we don't sign family acts, they're too cutey. But then the mother goes:
Please sir, if you just give us two minutes we know you would like our act.
So the talent agent says: alright you've got two minutes.
The family jumps right into it. The mother smiles and points to the son
who hits play on a boom box. Thrilling circus music starts to play as
the father spins his daughter around, bends her over, lifts up her skirt and
starts licking her asshole."
"What?"
"Then the son lays down on the floor, opens his mouth and the mother
tears in two her pants, squats down over his face and starts shitting
all over him."
"Dude?!"
"Hold on, hold on. The father grabs the baby, takes off his diaper and starts
sucking his cock, right, while the son still with the mother's shit in his
mouth goes over and licks the babies tiny little balls."
"Dude?"
"Hold on, Kyle. Now the mother lays down on her back on the floor, while
the daughter gets high up in a chair and starts pissing all over.
Then the father and son take the baby and start stuffing it head first back
into the mother's vagina, while the daugher's piss rains down on all
of them."
"Dude, just stop."
"They get the.. hold on Kyle. They get the baby halfway in so that its
legs are sticking out all kicking and flailing around. The son takes the
mother's shit out of his mouth and starts rubbing it all over everyone,
while the father sticks his cock in the baby's asshole and fucks it,
while it's still inside the mother until he comes all over the baby,
the wife and the son and the daughter."
"Cartman, Cartman..."
"Cut! Hold on please. Then the father gets up and says: And now for our
impersonation of the victims of 911. And the whole family starts
running around the room screaming and laughting with their dicks and titties
and flappin' around covered with shit and piss and cum goin.
Heeeelp Heeeelp the building's coming down. Heeeelp.
And finally the family runs back to the center of the room and goes TADAAAAA.
And the talent agent, he just sits there for the longest time
and finally he says: Jesus that's one hell of an act. What do you call it?
And the father says: The aristocrats. hehehe."
"I don't get it."
"Neither do I."

Yeah. 9/11 is hilarious! I know I can't stop laughing everytime they show that plane hitting the building. I mean, now that's comedy. All those people dying, ha ha. Whew, good one. Hey guys, did you hear about that tsunami? Now, if you want funny, you should check that shit out.
First off, Trey Parker and Matt Stone just try to push the envelope for the sake of pushing the envelope at this point. They're both pretty pathetic at this point, regardless of whether this was really done by them or not. And secondly, I really hope the people who said this was funny were being sarcastic. Because how do you know someone on this board doesn't know someone who died in that tragedy? If the comments weren't meant to be sarcastic, then seriously, it's called class. Try to figure that out.

That doesn't mean I'm laughing at 9/11. I just laughed at how offensive the joke was being. That is the whole point of it, and the 9/11 part proves it if you couldn't get it from what was previously said. Just because I laughed at something involving 9/11 doesn't mean I laugh at the 3000 that died. Cartman sounded so ridiculous saying it('Heeeeeelp heeeeeeeeelp')and it was offensive for the sake of being offensive, which made me laugh.
But remember. If we can't laugh at the events of September 11th, the terrorists have truly won

Whoa, slow down there. I was pretty shocked at the 9/11 part, and hardly found it funny (except for Cartman's screechy "Heeelp", but I was laughing with the voicework there), but the randomness of the "family act" of piss, shit and semen was good enough for a bellylaugh.

Okay people, you really should know the context before commenting on the thing.
This joke is a well-known joke among comedians as the most offensive joke ever, obviously due to the amount of controversial material in it (a guy licking his daughter's ass, a mother shitting in her son's mouth, the dad sucking the baby's dick, 9/11 jokes etc). The joke itself isn't amazingly funny, but that's the point - it's there for outrage and outrage only.
So a lot of comedians were asked to film the joke being told in their own style: South Park were asked, and some others, and they would all be put together to make a big long film.
Here's the history of it.
http://www.lnreview.co.uk/media/journal/001842.php
Now, they've definitely NOT gone too far if A) they've been asked to do it, and B) every other fucking comedian on the planet (including Whoopi Goldberg, for God's sake) is also doing it.

Really? It's called class? Ok, I'm gonna ask something.
Has anyone in this board known someone who got hit by a car? Yes?
If someone answered yes, then we can agree that we will never discuss THAT scene in Meet Joe Black.
Has anyone in this board known someone who died in a plane crash?
If someone answered yes, then we can agree that we will never discuss Final Destination.
AND ON, AND ON, AND ON. When does "class" stop and "being a wussy" begins?
And btw, we're laughing at the utter cruelty of the joke, not at the joke itself. It's like racist jokes. Contrary to what some may think, civilized people don't think "ooh yeah, that shoo' is how them niggers are, hyuck hyuck" right after hearing a black joke.

Ah-ha.
Now, then, this is not a JOKE, but a PRIVATE JOKE. We shouldn't be offended, because we don't know what it meant.
And besides, I've heard worse. The joke's not funny, but if it's a classic between comedians, then it's only fair that they'd challenge each other to giving their take on it. You know, like some kind of game.
I don't, however, think that "if people get angry and offended, then the joke's purpose has been accomplished", likeKcMsterpce. That, with all due respect, is bullshit. A joke is supposed to be funny, and make people LAUGH. The fact that people nowadays think a joke is supposed to get people "angry and offended" is why we get all the tasteless your-momma's-a-bitch, hey-look-Stifler-is-shitting-in-that-dude's-mouth "humor".
If you hear a joke and don't laugh, then it's not funny, and it failed. A joke's purpose is accomplished when it makes people laugh. If it's just there to make people angry and offended, then let's just tell comedians to stop telling jokes and just strip down and take a crap on everyone they see on the street while calling them beer keg-fucking nazis. They'll be angry and offended for sure.
I don't buy that this is their joke in the first place. If it is, all I can say is humor is subjective, i.e. I don't give a shit if they try to offend me or not. I didn't find it funny regardless. They can say what they want, though.

While I understand the context, I still don't think it's funny. I'm not offended, but baffled. I mean, joke or no joke, and regardless who's "interpreting" it in "their own style," it's a pretty stupid attempt at humor, IMHO. How is this even funny? And using the reverse psychology explanation ("You don't get it? THAT'S the punchline!") is just plain lame.

The joke is the delivery. It's not really a joke, more of a "who can gross out the audience more" type of thing. It's famous among comedians because it relies on how the comedian himself delivers and performs, not on the joke being funny or not.

I don't see how people don't find it funny, I was laughing my ass off, especially during "Heelp, heelp" part. And I was also laughing during the other part because it reminds me heavily of a couple of bits Bill Hicks did; so its partly nostalgic laughter. You should be able to laugh at the ridiculousness of the entire joke, if not the content, if not, go buy a better sense of humour; you miss all the good stuff if you get offended by things like this.

Bill Hicks was a talented fucker...he was vulgar, crass. offensive that's for sure (I'm thinking Goat Boy) but most significantly of all, he was INCREDIBLY FUCKING FUNNY!!!
I'm with Twisted Sister, the 'joke', or rather 'non-joke' fails on every level.

Okay, well, then, if it's not a joke, I don't understand the point of having comedians do the interpretations. Why not great orators like James Earl Jones or Patrick Stewart? They would give a helluvalot more impressive interpretations then say, Elaine Boozler.

The point is merely artistic, to see exactly how different comedians handle the same joke in different ways.
Obviously, Whoopi Goldberg's going to tell it differently from South Park, who are going to tell it differently from Adam Sandler, who will tell it significantly different than Spinal Tap.
To quote the link that I gave you in my last post (which some of you clearly didn't bother reading, it's at http://www.lnreview.co.uk/media/journal/001842.php ), the joke is "<i>being performed so you can appreciate the differences in various comedians' craft</i>".
All that's happened is someone has leaked the South Park version of the joke, which on its own with no context is simply offensive and pointless, then everyone who's seen it has decided they know the whole fucking background to the thing and that they came up with it themselves.
For fuck's sake people, check out the WHOLE STORY before you start badmouthing people for no reason. Let me spell it out for you again.

That's all well and good. I see the point of the actual experiment, but this particular version of the 'joke' is seriously pants...and not even because it's offensive, because it's utterly fucking redundant.
It isn't a joke, it isn't even a non-joke, it's a series of words strung together...some offensive, some not...and the structure is mildly intelligible. So what purpose does it serve exactly? It isn't satirical, it isn't nonsensical, it isn't funny, it isn't even random, it's only mildly peurile...in short, it is a mish-mash of obscure nothingness. So the South Park boys have worked their magic and produced something utterly pointless and similarly confused and coherent, grand stuff! I do hope Whoopi and Co. fair better.
I could see some significance in reciting random words...fuck, knob, USA, monkey spunk, taliban, twat, 9/11, bukkake, anus, cunt-bomb, felch, children, balls, tits, The Aristocrats! *badum-tish*...something like that. Now that would make me chortle, plus it would make SOME sense. But this...
I just don't know what the FUCK it is!?
Anyway...I read said link(s), I WILL see the film, um...ya, that's about the long and short of it.

They sure can say what they what, but that doesn't mean we have to listen to it.
These guys are assholes, and that's exactly what they want us to think of them. They'd rather infuriate us then entertain us, or at the very least make us laugh. I guess some people go for that stuff, though.
If we were really sick of them, we just wouldn't watch "South Park", or talk about it, for that matter. Maybe then they'd stop printing this "sick shit".
(My apologies to any schmoes who are "South Park" fans. It's not my thing, never was, and Stone and Parker have always annoyed the hell out of me.)

I might be wrong here, but you appear to making out that they came up with this idea and decided to release this joke by themselves.
It's ridiculous to suggest that Stone and Parker would "rather infuriate us then entertain us", if that was the case they wouldn't have gotten much further than season 1 of South Park.
At the end of the day, some people are entertained by this, just accept it. Don't assume that because you were infuriated by it then that's what their aim was.

I just don't know what the FUCK it is!?
Anyway...I read said link(s), I WILL see the film, um...ya, that's about the long and short of it.

And, I'm backing him up here, nothing "the hell is wrong" with Someguy. He's right. If we sit here and piss and moan about 9/11 the rest of our lives, the terrorists have won. They want us to be miserable, and by joking and laughing about it, they didnt get what they wanted. I had spinal surgery almost 6 years ago, I joke about it everyday. If I didnt, I would be downright miserable and bitter.

You want horrible-offensive-satirical-piss-yerself-larfing material then try Chris Morris' Jam...there are sketches on abortion, male gang rape, suicide, urine transfusions, toddlers on heroin and much more. It will leave you agog!

I do hope Whoopi and Co. fair better.
.
I think the point is just simply in the delivery... can you take that non-satirical, non-sensical, mildly peurile mis-mash of obscure nothingness and make it sound funny? If you can, then it shows that you have talent in performing the comedic arts.
Anyone can come up with decent jokes, but this is showing the art of delivery by handing the comedians a pile of shit and telling them to make casserole.
I bet Steven Wright could make this sound funny.

I think the main point of this entire post has been that obviously, we all view this thing very differently. After reading some other peoples comments, I do see where you're coming from about not getting that offended over this. Really, I wasn't overly offended by this "joke" but it's not something I'm going to laugh at.
Laughing at other people's deaths is not how we beat the terroists. Moving on with our lives is how we beat them, but we should still honor those who tragically died in that blatant act of cowardice. However, some people deal differently, and really, I think that's totally fine. So, I retract my previous statement about the people who laughed at this having no class. It was a brash comment made in the heat of the moment. No offense meant towards Lyrik, someguy, or Jackson.
But drago, those of us who didn't laugh need to get a new sense of humor? Why? Because we don't laugh at the same things you do. Hell, I find Tom Green, Will Farrell, and Chris Farley to be hilarious, and much of their comedy is at times pointless. That's usually where the comedy comes from. But this thing here is not even a joke, it's just a bunch of words thrown together in a completely random way. If you think this joke is the best thing since sliced bread, then obviously, it doesn't take much to make you laugh.
Piss, shit, balls, cock, ass, house, dog, cat, suckie-suckie, vietnamese hooker, girl, boy, salad tosser, wet dream, child molestor. That's basically a similiar structure to the joke that you think is the greatest joke ever told. You're a stand up comedian's best friend. You'll laugh at anything.

You clearly haven't seen or heard Jam/Blue Jam...because sketches such as these seem anything but tame to me:
*A plumber is called to a house to "fix" a dead baby. He complies and fits the tiny corpse with a tap, pipes and other oddments.
*A house vendor gazumps a buyer - by demanding sex rather than money - he is offered a disabled relative.
*A woman who had recently had an abortion is given a tiny coffin as a gift by her lover.
*A father lifts up the dress of his little girl to show her "cock and balls".
*A wife forgives her husband's 'iinfidelity' when she discovers he has just been gang-raped.
*A child is sodomised and killed to the indifference of his parents.
...and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I agree that the Aristocrats joke is just plain stupid, rather than funny or satirical or groundbreaking or offensive. Trey and Matt hit the ball out of the park almost everytime with South Park, but with bland and boring efforts like "Team America", "BASEketball" and this lame attempt at being shocking, I'm convinced they can't do much else.

Yeah, how exactly can someone as underrated as Bill was and is, be overrated? How does that work, exactly?
Anyway, I seem to be the only person who found it funny, meh. I think what I find funny is not the content but the randomness of it, and the delivery by Cartman doesn't hurt either. Sorry for saying "get a better sense of humour", all that, I was pushing my beliefs I guess then, which I dont ussually do. There's not enough 9/11 jokes around though, which made me appreciate it that much more.

Well, you've listened to less than 15% of his entire body of work, so at least you're not being presumptuous. The Comedy Central list was compiled by a group of fellow comedians, most of whom had worked with him and were influenced by him. His cult following is just that -- small, underground and extremely dedicated. Ask an average Joe on the street who Bill Hicks is and all the blank stares you'll get will give you a pretty good idea of how underrated and underappreciated he was, is and will be.

Essentially, Bill is kinda like a cult flick, if I gather what your post is trying to say. I hated the likes of Hedwig And The Angry Inch and while it's not the most well known of movies it has nearly flawless word of mouth. Seemingly everybody seems to love it yet I loathed it. I managed to see Revelations off of KaZaa and I've since droped that virus-ridden program whore like 5 tons (or tonnes) of brick of a big building since it was screwing up my computer (and costing me money to repair). I've tought of paying for a virus-free one but that may not happen and I haven't the foggiest about how to see wither performance without buying them (which I won't do since I'm still scarred from Revelations). I might have better luck when I visit Ottawa this summer. I believe you in that it will probably be better but I'm skeptical since it's over a decade old and I feel standups usually don't age well in general (I love Carlin but I could without his pre 90s stuff).

I apologize if you think I'm talking down to you or anyone who found the joke funny. That is not my intention. I simply think the whole thing is a piece of crap. If you like a movie, and I tell you it sucks stating the reasons why I think that particular movie sucks, I don't believe I'm talking down to you. Rather, I'm disagreeing with you.
So, that's really all the input I have on this subject because the two sides on this argument are black and white. Theirs no real middle ground here. Some think this is funny, others think it's not. No one here, and I mean no one is saying that it was funny to see the Sept. 11th attacks And it shouldn't be. There's nothing intrinsically funny about the Sept. 11th attacks. Much in the same way, the video of Nick Berg being beheaded wasn't funny.
HOWEVER, and THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT HERE...
The fact that these events were horrible does not mean funny jokes can't be made about them. That's the plain truth. I'm not saying Nick Berg's death was funny, but someone can, and WILL, make a joke about it. And it will be funny, and many will laugh. But the laughter at these jokes isn't only because of the joke itself, but because of the shock value, because of the "holy shit, i can't believe he said that".
The funny joke in this case was Cartman imitating Sept. 11th. Tasteless? Yes. Hilarious? You bet your sweet ass.

I am personally a bit offended at this mischaracterization. What, because I laughed at a joke I am some inhuman monster that would laugh at videos of Nick Berg being beheaded? I'm surprised you didn't suggest I masturbated to the videos, for god's sake.

I can't believe how many people are critiquing the joke itself. This documentary will be less of a comedy and more of a...well, documentary. I don't see it appealing to a wide demographic. The experiment deals with style and delivery. Punchlines and set-ups don't matter. The words don't matter. Don't judge anyone involved with this film until you've seen it.

I forget a lot, but I remember the weather one. I just know that a lot of it wasn't funny.
I know Day Today is satire, I was just talking about Morris being funny

The joke is absolute shite!
The amount of time people have devoted to this thread is hilarious.

I didn't laugh, but I guess I just didn't "get the real point of the clip".

The Sundance report from today has whoever wrote it calling the movie "The Aristocrats" (which is the one this clip belongs to) one of the funniest movies he's ever seen.

Finally. Someone mentions the film again. Isn't that the point of this thread? Everyone seems to be putting all this blame on Matt and Trey. They were asked to do this. Each comic gives the joke in his/her own style. That's the point. To see what someone can do with nothing. If they can make comedy from nothing. That is the measure of a comedian. I think they succeeded, but it seems like a lot of folks are actually acting like they created this just to be vulgar. This is their style of comedy, and the filmmakers asked them for it. I'd really like to see this, to see the varying styles and the different interpretations of this joke. Then we can see this clip in the context of everything else, which I'm sure will make it a little more relevant. This reminds me of people that "know" something is going to suck just be seeing some screen shots or the trailer or something.

Sadly, it is not the point of this thread. The thread poster either did not know about the film and its purpose, or subjectively neglected to acknowlege it. He wanted a massive response without people being informed, and it was mostly a success.
He just wanted everyone to be disgusted at the joke and hate Matt Stone and Trey Parker, thinking they have come up with it. Before this thread, he posted an exact same one in the TV forum called "New South Park joke".
I'm glad some people were well informed and helped inform the masses here about what it actually is. It's not a joke. If you don't think it's funny, it's because in reality, it's not supposed to be funny. It's an experiment in comedic style and presentation, and if Bill Hicks were still alive, by holy fuck he'd be doing it too.
So please schmoes, before you want to post about what an atrocity this joke is, how unfunny it is, or how you can't believe how much time has been devoted to the thread, please read about its fuckin purpose.
I read about its purpose. It had none. The author posted a link and said they've gone too far in the title. I still don't get how. I'm not offended by the joke, but I'm not sure where this entire thread is going otherwise. It just seems petty to rip on a joke from two people who are notorious for off-color humor.

This clip was done by Matt and Trey. I am a huge South Park fan and they even said on the South Park website was a legit clip, and that they did do it. Here's the site: www.southparkstudios.com

THis clip was definitely done by Matt and Trey. There was even a question asked on the South Park website about it, and it was answered. Here's the address: http://www.southparkstudios.com/show/display_faq_search.php?section=2&id=16804&search_faq=

Ooooo. So its not supposed to be funny, which is the point, and that makes it funny.... because reality isn't funny.... and a handfull of comedians telling the same joke (that is not supposed to be funny in the first place) is what the message of this comidic angle is all about..... and that winds up making it artisticly satirical and hillarious...........
Unti I see the damn film I wont get this high strung superior humor, and i will continue not getting it unless The Aristocrats gets great reviews.

The greatest problem with shock humor is that the envelope must continually be pushed indefinitely. Think about that. Eventually we would have to come to a point where we think murder is funny, and rape is funny, and crucifying an innocent "person" named Jesus is funny. And once the envelope gets pushed to THAT point, it will need to be pushed even farther than that.
Something to think about . . .

Have you ever heard of that old PBS show called Junkyard Wars? Well they take a bunch of useless shit, and try to make something special and creative out of it.
That's what this is. It's pretty much a study on comedic style and presentation from around 100 top comedians. From what I've heard so far, It's actually getting great reviews, and I think old Joblo himself said the hype was getting him towards a screening of it at Cannes...

Hey if it's a inside joke why are we hearing it? Maybe they should keep in temple or where everit comes from. Sound more like a initiation to be part of their group
