Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!
Well, folks, FOX has cancelled its hit show, Tru Calling. Why? Because, they say that with the premiere of Point Pleasant, its new show about the daughter of the devil, they feel that they now have too many occult shows on the channel (too many, meaning TWO).
Fuck! Why is it that they can air all this reality bullshit, and yet say that they can't have more than one supernatural TV series! That's utter crap!
Thoughts?!

I thought this show was on like Saturday nights after SNL and weekend afternoons.

HIT show? It always struggled in ratings. And in quality.

Hopefully they'll release the second season on DVD considering they made like half of as season. I thought Point Pleasent looked good, now I'm thinking of boycotting it if that was the reason Tru Calling was cancelled ...

Well...life goes on. I thought it was a pretty weak, not so original show. There are plenty of better shows in the same vain as this one that were cancelled (Millenium anyone?)

Couldn't agree more, one of the better suspense shows in the last 10 years.
Quite a shame, Eliza is a great actress.

It sucks much more now because the show is as great as it has ever been and just keeps getting better and better. And there is only 6 freaking episodes of the new season! That means just 2 more episodes are left and the show has gotten so damn great! What a tease! :(

I've been watching the show because I"m a fan of Priestley (serious, don't ask me about my top 5 Priestley movie list....), but this show -- i really didn't see it having any staying power. It reminded me of SLIDERS which got old very quick. When you have a show that centers around a concept like this, there isn't much you can do to make it have longevity, and the writers did nothing. There was no mythology added to the show, just the single concept. The characters were pretty cool, and I liked the actors. Really. the idea was there, but this would have been MUCH COOLER as a feature length movie. This show was not series material.
That being said, I hate it as much as anyone when a show I like gets canceled. I'm sorry to see it go, though I knew it would happen, because like has been mentioned there are much worse shows on the air. At least this one tried to be original.
Plus, this is much cooler than Point Plesant -- not many shows featuring Death as a character. That was pretty cool.

Sadly, Fox isn't to blame, it's the general population of morons that keep watching and demanding more reality TV and other worthless programs.

Okay. Now THAT'S rant-worthy!
Major bullshit. Just let the show play out, if anything. Give some respect to the writers and crew. Stop putting that hotel slut on every chance you get.

Totally agree with the above 3 posts. The five episodes they aired of the second season were amazing. And Fox can't be blammed completly for this cancellation, but come on, let us see the last damn episode. Unfortunatly, there's a large population of morons in the world who would rather watch a re-run of some stupid spoiled whores than Tru Calling.
I can't stand Paris Hilton even more now. When will she go away!?

Fox seems to enjoy cancelling shows just to get a raise out of the fans it seems. Maybe not that but for some cryptic and probably illogical marketing reason they like canceling shows....

Maybe if someone would organize a letter writting campaign to FOX and constantly reminding them how dumb they are they would put the show back on....Just look at Family Guy.
As for the show, I could never really stand it but there has been worser things broadcasted on the FOX network.*cough*THESIMPLELIFE*COUGH!

Yeah they enjoy doing that. First Family Guy (at least they had the decency of bringing that back) then the best animated show there is, Futurama (bring THAT back, please!) and now Tru Calling . . . without airing the finale. That's pretty lame, yeah.
