Very sad news for horror fans. Found out earlier this morning from www.texaschainsawmassacre.net that Paul Partain, the man who played "Franklin" in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has lost his two year battle with cancer. He passed away Thursday evening, January 27th 2005.

Rest in peace, Mr. Partain. I will continue to enjoy your superb performance in the absolute greatest horror movie of all time.

He was a nice guy, I met him at a convention a few years ago. RIP.

Aw man...I'm very sorry to hear this. He brought some great humor to TCM.

"If I have any more fun today, I don't think I'm gonna be able to take it!"

Thanks for the laughs, Paul. Rest in peace.

I didn't even know that he was afflicted with cancer. This is depressing news. I know that most people find Franklin to be exasperating, but I was able to relate to him, and I thought that Paul Partain gave a stellar performance. This marks the third TCM-related death in the past year and a half. First, Jim Siedow passed, then art director Robert Burns committed suicide, and now Partain has crossed over.

R.I.P.

I will never enjoy seeing another handicapped person being chainsawed to death as I did seeing Franklin chainsawed to death.

RIP Big Guy, your character( and his Massacre-ing) will live on forever.

I wasn't a fan of his performance in TCM, but I'm sorry for his family's loss and understand how much he meant to the horror community.

R.I.P. :(

Poor Franklin. He'll live on forever, though, in the hearts of us horror fans.
