Makeup Artist Files $25 Million Rape Lawsuit Against Snoop

An Emmy Award winning makeup artist has filed a lawsuit against Snoop Dogg, claiming the multi-platinum rapper and several associates raped her following a January 2003 taping of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
According to the lawsuit, Bell “applied and removed makeup for Snoop from January 28-30, in Snoop’s dressing room in the El Capitan Theater."
Bell charges that Snoop and four others sexually assaulted her and is seeking $25 million in damages and has named Snoop Dogg, ABC, Jimmy Kimmel’s show and the Walt Disney Company as defendants.
Bell, who won an Emmy Award in 2002 for her work on HBO’s popular series “Six Feet Under,” claims that she was incapacitated after drinking what she was told was champagne in Snoop’s dressing room.
According to the lawsuit, she says the network is responsible for the rape, claming Snoop’s dressing room was stocked with large quantities of champagne and marijuana.
Bell also claims she witnessed the rapper snorting cocaine on the final night he co-hosted a show with Kimmel.
Bell claims family members advised her not to report the incident, due to Snoop’s alleged gang affiliations.
According to the complaint, Bell informed representatives at Kimmel’s show and ABC started paying her living expenses.
After those payments ceased, she received payments from Snoop directly, while their respective attorney’s attempted to negotiate a settlement.
She alleges that she needed a therapist and psychiatrist and in September of 2003, had to visit a psychiatric hospital.
In December, Snoop filed a lawsuit against the woman and her legal team, claiming they attempted to extort $5 million from the rapper in exchange for concealing the alleged assault.
Snoop, born Calvin Broadus, maintained that he played no part in the alleged assault and has sued for punitive damages and prevention of future threats.
The lawsuit can be viewed at thesmokinggun.com.

Well, if Snoopy has been paying her for almost two years to keep her quiet, that makes her case stronger.
Demanding 25 million of course is going to make her seem just money-hungry for many.
I'm not taking much of stand in this. I wouldn't be suprised if Snoopy and his pals really drugged and raped her. It's not like it would be much of a suprise if they did. But on the other hand the woman has been seemingly happy to not to go to trial as long as the money keeps coming in. So who knows what her motivation is. Then again, why would Snoopy pay her, if he is clean?

That's what I'm thinking. I'm not saying he's guilty, but do I think he probably is?
....Yeah.

Exactly, on all points. Too much ambiguity in the story to make a call.
Stupid girl could've gotten MUCH more than her bills paid had she come forward (the cops would have protected her, I'm sure), ratted his ass out and sued for damages. Come on, Snoop beat a murder rap, so I'm pretty sure the LAPD would have loved a shot at bringing him down on irrefutable gang-rape charges. Key word = irrefutable.
Personally, I think the girl watched a little too much of the Kobe trial on Court TV and got inspired after a night of partying with Snoop got out of control. But I'm jus' sayin.'

Oh, and talking about the money made me think...
Say the trial does take place, the jurors find Snoop guilty (not that he is, this is hypothetical), and the woman gets money.
Who decides how much money she gets? Does she just get what she asked for? Because I used to think that, in the US, the jurors decided if someone was guilty or not, and the judge decided of the sentence. But the other day I watched PHILADELPHIA for the umpteenth time, and for the first time I realized that in that movie, it's the jurors who decide the amount of damages to be paid, and not the judge.
So how does this whole thing actually work?

I think it depends on the state. In some states the judge does the sentencing, in others, it's the jury. I haven't seen Quoth around the boards in a while, but he'd be the guy to ask.
Quoth, you out there, doll?

In a criminal trial, where the state is the plaintiff (e.g., The State of California vs. Calvin Broadus a/k/a Snoop Dogg), the judge decides the sentence according to state sentencing guidelines.
In a civil suit, where both parties are individuals (e.g. Jane Doe vs. Calvin Brodus a/k/a Snoop Dogg). the case may be tried before a jury which then issues an award. The person suing can ask for any amount but the jury can award any amount that they want. It usually taking into consideration how much each party were at fault, pain and sufferering, etc.

Even if this did happen she seemed more than happy to be "paid off" for two years. If you wait 2 years to file a lawsuit, but want only money, it seems pretty shady. Even if it is true and they did rape her, I wonder what evidence they have against him? The answer to that is nothing. If he gives her even 1 cent I'll be pissed. Whats she going to do, ruin Snoop Dogs golden reputation?

if anything ruin his marriage but not his rep, lol. how can u hurt a pimps rep by a mere rape charge??? lol, pimps dont get hurt that way. hopefully this all blows over and he and his people never laid a finger on her.....rape has got to be the mos violent crime i can think of. :(
If he did do it, then I hope the victim gets justice. If he didn't, then I hope he is found innocent. What else is there to say?

Interesting stuff, but I strongly doubt Snoop will face any consequences. After this, he should follow in 50 Cent's footsteps:
"50 Cent has reportedly taken dramatic measures to ensure that he doesn’t have to endure a public trial like basketball star Kobe Bryant.
According to Elite TV, the rapper claims to film all of sexual exploits that occur within his lavish mansion by utilizing a plethora of spy-like angles.
“No matter what you do, it's on camera. All angles, you are on tape. I got it set up. There are spy cameras all over the room,” he said to Elite.
The self-proclaimed pimp said that there will be little-to-no chance that a false rape allegation would ever come out of a tryst with a groupie.
“They cannot say I took it. It proves they gave it to me - they willingly gave it,” he continued.
And, he said, should somebody be bold enough to attempt to levy charges anyway, he would make that individual famous in a way they might not appreciate.
He finished with, “I'd put [the video footage] on the internet unless they dropped the charges.”

And people say Fiddy has no class.

i would do what 50 cent is doing with all the spy cams even if i was halfway rich and just a little famous....groupies are not stupid, lol.

Does anyone think 50 calling them spy cameras really makes no sense when he is telling everyone about them? I think it would make ALOT more sense if he told no one about them. That way when girls have sex with him, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCUSING HIM OF RAPE, he now has proof that he is innocent, and another couple 100G's to make in video rights. If he tells people about the cameras, like he did, he will get less ass from hot girls just trying to get his money. Just shows how stupid rappers are.

I think 50 is a smart guy and trying to stop a problem before it arises.
As for the girl not coming forward right away, i would just say that it's comon for rape victims (or any victim for that matter) to want to forget. She would be put in a huge spotlight, and on top of that who know what crazied fans of snoops would do to her. Look at what happened to the girl that accused Kobe.
On that note too Kobe said that Shaq just pays off women. Making me wonder how much this happens. They really have to stop awarding settlements and just people in jail the fuck ups, so the next fuck knows.
Going what she said and my own experences at parties and such. Drugs and alochol lead to people being out of control, getting violent or whatever. Be i've never hung out with snoop or know any of his friends, so who knows.
Honestly i hope it's not true

I agree. But I can't deny the money issue is suspicious though.

And this year's Wilt Chamberlain Award goes to.... 50 cent. Congratulations. Here's the pimp. Snoop's not the pimp. I don't buy the image that he tries to sell us in the videos. I've seen him coaching his son's football team and behind the scenes. He seems like a decent father/husband, considering his position in the limelight.

The day I wake up and read a headline that goes something along the lines of:
Rapper Snoop Dog gets gang raped while serving prison sentence....
..and in other news....Rapper 50 (Fiddy) cent stabbed in throat while at nightclub...doctors say he'll never record AGAIN.....Whiggers seemingly distraught over this tragic news have committed mass suicide.
..is the day I will finally admit that shit like, Yin & Yang, Kharma, Zen, & Harmonic Balance actually exist in this fucking world.
