Asian Horror/Chinese Ghost Story

I've heard that Asian horror flicks often get absolutely insane, so I thought about checking some out. (Ju On the Grudge series is a though). Anyone know much on this subject (I prefer english dubs rather than subs)? Also while we're on this subject: I've recently been looking at the Chinese Ghost Story movie series, has anyone seen these? I've been looking for english dubbed versions of them, are there even any english dubs of these in existence? :confused:

I'm sure the chinese ghost storres would have an english dub somewhere, but as much as you will hate it since you said you prefer dubs, i'd say your going to have to stick with subtitles and the original tracks, but trust me its worth it.

As for asian horror, just go for anything that takes your interest really, because ive enjoyed every single asian horror flick ive seen, but dont let the hyped up ones raise your expectations too much because you could be let down a fair bit. I'd check the 4 grudge movies and avoid the crappy remake, anything takashi miike (but if you check out Audition, dont look into it at all, i caught htis on tv knowing nothing about it - nor it being a takashi miike film and it had a big effect on me, i'm sure Arrow would agree, so check Audition (odition) first). But yeh liek i said, what takes your interest.

You really prefer english dubs? Damn, i could never stand dubbing to english (most of my favorite movies are asian and I always watch them subtitled).

Chinese Ghost Story wasn't so much a horror movie...it was chock full of comic releaf I'd say it's more comedy with a horror like theme basis.

But I'd have to say to starters Ju-On isn't bad, Suicide Club isn't bad also...Ichi the Killer also...Versus is also one of my favorites. Tsui Hark's "Vampire Hunters" isn't scary but still good.

But that's just my opinion...they all should be available on netflix I think...

ive only seen the first Chinese Ghost Story and it was fun, dumb at times but fun and as dork knight said, more of a comedy with horror themes

as for a dub, i havent heard of one but i wouldnt be surprised if one did exist
