The day I was born, April 16th 1979, principal photography on "Heaven's Gate" started. That was a great day in the history of cinema....
I think the day before I was born production wrapped on Raging Bull. I was like "Mom, why didn't you take me to Brooklyn and hold me up in front of the crew and be like 'My son will love this movie', or take me to see Apocalypse Now." She's like "You were zero years old", I was like "I know." Then I said "don't ask me about my business, Kaye."
*1987 guy, how do you NOT mention Full Metal Jacket??

LOL! How dare you refer to Hannibal as "1987 guy"...that just cracked me up! Hannibal has a very classic taste and is a well respected schmoe, maybe FMJ wasn't his thing(I love it...Kubrick my favorite director) maybe he's not a big Kubrick fan, I don't remember...Hannibal, interesting to see RoboCop on your list, coming from you I didn't really expect that.

Unfortunately, I have not seen Full Metal Jacket. I love Kubrick though, but this is just one of the few films I have not seen from him.

When I saw Hannibal was born in 1987 I was shocked. I had read his posts, and seen the movies he liked and always assumed he was a 60 year old. I may only have 160 posts or so, but i have been watching the board since when I signed up in early 2003, so I have been around a while.

I'm not even sure if I've seen much more than 10 movies from 1982, the year I was born.
Coming up with a list is more work than my lazy ass is willing to do. But I will say the my three favorite movies from 82 are:
E.T.:The Extra-Terrestrial
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
48 HRS.
The Other

I was born in 1983, but I'm really rusty on films from the 80s. I've seen a lot, but I need to revisit them now as an adult. I don't remember a lot of them. I know that A Christmas Story and Terms of Endearment were released in 1983, which I love. So, that's cool.

Same story here, only I haven’t even seen A Christmas Story. I do love Terms of Endearment though. And was Woody Allen’s Zelig also 1983? If so, that’s my #1.
