The Fantastic Four will be the sleeper hit of the summer. Once word leeks out that the FF is a live action version of The Incredibles, (who blatantly ripped off the FF in every way) the kiddies will flock to see this one. Hulk ended up around 130 million if I remember right and X-Men 2 broke 200 million. So, probably somewhere in between.
Opening: 48.5 million
overall domestic: 151 million

Ring is one of the most popular films of the last 20 years. I'd be shocked if it opened under $65 million.
I think War of the Worlds will ram F4 in the ass. And the trailer is cheesy in a bad way. I smell flop.

Lyrik i completely agree with you. Speaking for the generation, every teen is going to see this movie, every single one. Although we might not all show up opening weekend, this movie is going to do much better than the first. I think 200 million more than likely. Furthermore, are you forgetting the legs of the first movie? It made more than it did openning weekend for the next four weeks (or so). Even kids who thought it was laughable will see the sequel just to prove they are immune to The Ring. I see an opening of at least 50 million. Let's just say the movie sucks, I still see it pulling the same 120 million as the original.

I really want High Tension to do great. Now that it has an R rating, it can be a wide release, but I'm not sure how great it'll do. It really completely depends on marketing. It was a great movie, best movie of this year actually, so I really hope it does great. I'm predicting it should make around $15 million overall though, sort of like Wrong Turn.

When I saw the bad WOM leak in I was pretty certain it would open under $50 million.
As someguy would say:
needs less crap
needs more theater count (and Halloween would have helpted)
