Well, it's coming out tomorrow and seeing how people are reacting to it all across the board I doubt anybody will actually see this, but the movie deserves it's own thread anyway just so we can talk about it.
Also, I just found out that according to IMDb, this movie had a 100 MILLION DOLLAR budget. *cries*

The trailers are painful... Like having some sharp object jammed into your intelligence until you are completely dumbed down... I cannot bear the thought of people forking out their hard earned cash to be tormented in that manner... We truly are a society of sado-masochists...

I bet watching this movie will be like getting ass raped by the biggest dude in Prison. It will hurt like hell, and nothing good will come out in a few days. :D

This opened in the UK last week and didn't even hit the top 10. OUCH! It looks awful in every way. I think New Line made a little TO much money from Lord Of The Rings.
This could rival Alone In The Dark and Boogeyman for worst movie of the year. It could be worst bomb off the year, no, decade.

Hey, it got a positive review! Fred Topel from about.com liked it. That's one positive out of 45 reviews for a rating of 2% over at rottentomatoes.

my kids will probably drag me to see this...maybe I'll put them up for adoption.... ;-)
well, I can't exactly take them to see Constantine...and they already dragged me to Are We There Yet? (which seems to be hated more by people who haven't seen it then those that have...and movie critics don't count)

Dear lord. If that's true then this is going to be one massive flop!
Good, I'm glad! :p

Apparently, 2 more critics liked it and it now has a 05 percent rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Now I just need to see the numbers for the movie.

I wonder if those two critics had indulged in a little weed beforehand. I think that movie would be hilarious under those circumstances!! :D

I was forced to endure this one to write a review for the school paper. As you can imagine, it wasn't pretty. I can't post the review, but I'll put up a link when it's online.
And if you thought the story and effects looked atrocious.... try suffering through 86 minutes of extreme close-up shots. If people were talking, their heads WERE the screen.
I wanted to vomit.

It did actually reach no.6 in the UK charts, for some unknown bloody reason, haven't seen it and don't intend to, the trailers were enough for me, I am still having nightmares now.

Half term week, annoying little bastard kids wanting to see a piece of garbage at the cinema, makes perfect sense.
Still, $100 million? Shit...

Amen, its rediculous. Directors are getting pretty desperate to find some kind of entertainment. This isn't even worth renting and gives the original mask a bad name.

I saw it, just because i love to see someone put on the mask and I liked the first one and because i like Jamie Kennedy (Scream and JKX were awesome)
So I saw it. Wasnt bad, I wasnt to crazy about the baby and thought it should of been more towards jamie kennedy wearing the mask but all in all I enjoyed it and saw it twice. Jamies Elvis like voice when he wore the mask was hysterical (SP?)
8.5/10
(Nothing like baby geniuses which I saw when I was little and refused to see its sequel)

tsk tsk play nice...
The thing I hate the most is that they're making the sequel a family comedy (A kiddy movie) when the first one was a dark comedy/action (kinda) movie.
May this movie die in a pile of shit.

A big surprise to me when i actually enjoyed Son of the Mask. It was a nice fast paced and very fun movie. Jaime Kennedy did a great job as Tim Avery but a bad job at the mask(not enough energy) and the cartoonish cgi and fx ws great (it works for this movie) I also dug the plot and how different it was the first movie (but i would of liked to see more vulgar humor-the movie was too kid-safe) Not that terrible (although the finale had it's chessey moments) and it was actually a fun time. 6/10

Hmm 7..no..I was at my friends house and his little sister was watching baby geniuses..this was when I was around 10..then 4 years later (Im 14 going on 15) this movie comes out. I think Jamie Kennedy was a funny guy and I enjoyed the movie. Sorry if I dont agree with the rest of you.

OK I went and saw this movie for 3 reasons:
1. I saw it for free and was paid to take the youth from my center there
2. IT's from the same director as Cats and Dogs which is one of the best childrens movies from the last decade
3. It had Jamie kennedy in it.
When it came down to push and shove this movie was actually not that bad. I mean they incorporated Norse Mythology into a childrens movie which was a nice little surprise even if it was very very cheesy. Now there were some scenes where I actually winced at how bad they were but there were a alot more where I found myself laughing outloud at the obnoxious comedy set pieces that make up the film. It's barely good but it's still an entertaining watch.
6/10
