I'm not really surprised with the lack of interest of this movie, but I have to say, it was a MAJOR pleasant surprise. I actually liked it! It's a real charmer and young AnnaSophia Robb is postively adorable!

You guys should check it. Heck, the movie has gotten some pretty good reviews too.

I ripped on this movie during a presentation in class tonight and a bunch of females and the Professor jumped down my throat for it.

I guess it won the Newberry award for best book two years ago.

I just really don't want to see it, and I think it looks shitty. But apparently with my profession of choice I should keep up to date with all of the popular films and books that children will love and enjoy!

Believe me. My expectations for this movie wasn't exactly very high either. I hate the scene in the commercials where the dog berps. But fortunately that's the only scene with that kind of humor. This movie really surprised me. It's a very sweet and at times touching movie. I snuck into this movie after watching Constantine so I was able to see it for free. But if I had to pay to see it, I wouldn't have complained at all. A very pleasant surprise I tell you.
