Last week's major new film events saw a good hold in their second week and maintained their spots at the top of the Box Office. Oscar hopeful THE AVIATOR only deflated 24% and added an additional $1,392,725 to its total, which now comes to $3,977,175 (US $45,586,442). DeNiro thriller HIDE AND SEEK surprisingly only saw a minimal 39% in its second week, taking its intake to $3,139,431 (US $35,984,207). The Bollywood fun of BRIDE AND PREJUDICE scored the highest debut of the week at #3 with $1,053,751 (US $12,078,110), it also had the largest screen average of the week, with it only being released on 99 screens. Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni popped up at #4 with their dramedy SPANGLISH bringing in $1,007,867 (US $11,552,187). After it's Advance Screenings last week, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS had a staggering 306% increase soaring into the Top 5. The critically mixed flick has totalled $952,012 (US $10,911,976) it's first official week in. Declining faster than I would've hoped, CLOSER downs to #9, losing 43% over the weekend. 4 weeks on and the Natalie Portman starrer has $5,234,994 (US $60,003,584) all up. After an underwhelming first appearance, CELLULAR couldn't manage to snag any major new viewers slipping out of the Top 10 in its second week. The Kim Basinger/Chris Evans thriller has a rather unimpressive $835,688 (US $9,578,669) in total. THE INCREDIBLES and ALEXANDER suffered the biggest drops of the week. With holidays off and everyone back to school, the pixar flick is no longer catering to its target audience, whilst Farrell's flop is proving it's negative buzz is well justified. After 9 weeks the former, off 53%, has accumulated $26,582,338 (US $304,687,179), whilst the former, dipping 59%, can call $4,140,271 (US $47,455,851) its own after 4 weeks.

THIS WEEK (February 24th): Keanu goes to hell and back; Don Cheadle checks in to resident Oscar; and putting the f-u-n into funeral.

That report was so thorough it almost made me forget that the information given had no bearing on my life whatsoever.
