Looking for new equip

My dvd player is finally about to crap out on me after 5 yrs of abuse. I'm not sure if i want another one (dvd player surround sound combo) or dvd player then seperate surround. I'm also looking into getting one with a dvi connection on it so i can hook it straught to the tv that way for the best picture. Any suggestions on what to buy, not really looking to spend more than 700 on everything

Im not sure about specific models and whatnot, though I know that GoVideo is making some seriously nice models now and alot of em have even firewire connections, so im sure they will have about any connection in/output that you could need.

i'm really looking for one that the pic will be ungodly on my tv, and will play pretty much any dvd-r or +r disc.

I hear the V, Inc. Bravo D2 DVD player is the best DVI player you can get. It cost $249.

I don't know what your budget is, but Onkyo has really good receivers in all price ranges.
Speakers, I would go for Polk Audio or Klipsch. They are good mid-range priced speakers.
And remember, don't skimp on the cables. Monster brand is good if you don't want to break the bank.
