Now, everybody here remembers the very first Dvd they bought. For me it was My Blue Heaven and Arlington Road, I bought em right about the time Dvds began to come out so they were the barebones to beat all barebones. I bought them for like 14 bucks and I see them now in the 5.50 bin at walmart, but that happens. So, what were the first Dvds you bought, or recieved?

The Mask of Zorro in December of 2000... Got it for free because that was when they were offering 5-6 dvds for FREE when you bought a player..

Any Given Sunday 2-Disc
It was a 2-disc snapper cover. That means that the second disc is hidden in a secret compartment in the cardboard that makes out the front of the cover.

The Christmas the PS2 came out was 2000, where I received my first DVD. I'm not sure if it was I who received it or my brother, but it was Shanghai Noon. More likely, my first DVD was Meet The Parents, three months later.

I found A Better Tomorrow used for $9, so I grabbed that
I stayed with these guys in the US when I was there that had a huge number of DVDs, so that's when I REALLY got into them..... including all of John Woo's big HK flicks, which I fell in love with
So, I got back and had to get it when I saw it, even though it was months before I bought my own player
This was... fall of 2002? I was late on the bandwagon, but I'm almost up to 250 discs now

When I bought my dvd player for the first time, I really didn't know anything about dvds. I didn't the difference between special edition or bare-bones dvds. So I bought...
The Matrix-I wanted an action movie to watch on my new player
JFK-I love that movie, but don't know why I bought it.
The Color Purple- Same as above
Stand and Deliver-Because it was cheap and because I'm Mexican and you're a Mexican you can't be caught dead without a copy of this movie.
By the way, I too have the Any Given Sunday dvd and I had no idea there was a hidden dvd in the cover. I'm going to have to check that out!

Lethal Weapon 4. It was the only decent DVD back when DVDs were being introduced. I had a DVD drive on my computer for several months before I even heard what DVDs were all about, I actually thought they were just some stupid fad! Boy I was wrong there! I did buy another before LW4 which was a cover mounted introduction & clips DVD that got me interested in the whole DVD thing. Never looked back from there.
