Goin from Monsters Ball to Catwoman makes ya wonder on her movie choices... :D

I just saw her acceptance speech on tv. An imitation of her Oscar win with her pretending to cry and be emotional about her win. Wasn't amused by that, but I'm at least glad that she was a good sport about it.

For a movie like Catwoman, I wouldn't have blamed her if she didn't show up.

She's adorable. This shows that she doesn't have a board up her arse.

This is the best news I've heard about the Razzies since Sly Stallone showed up a few years back.

She's cool and she's always been cool. And I've always thought so.

Haha. You gotta respect that.

Yep. I've never the understood the hate for her. People have bitched about her just because she wants more screen time in the X-Men movies. Who can blame her? She's barely used in those movies and she wants meatier roles. There is NOTHING wrong with that!

I do hope she starts picking better movies though. Two terrible movies in a row (Gothika, Catwoman) is not good.

Props to her for having a good sense of humour about the whole thing, and being a gracious 'loser'. I think she's a little overrated, but she's got mostly a fun body of work behind her, and she was bloody deserving of her Oscar, let's just hope she chooses better projects.

You know what? I don't know.

Sure, she showed up, and accepted it, and that's nice. But did you hear the speech? She basically blamed everyone else for the failure -- from thanking Warner Bros for "putting (her) in such a piece of shit movie" to French director Pitof because she couldn't "understand anything he was saying". Sounds pretty hypocritical to me from someone who for the past ten months was trying to sell Catwoman as a great, sexy, feminist action flick. And showing up with her Oscar in one hand, as if to say "fuck you, look what I've got" -- didn't dig on that, either.

Honey, you CHOSE to do that flick. You signed the contract, you acted in it, and you sold it to people looking to spend eight bucks on a Friday night. Accepting a Razzie's great -- taking a dump on everyone else as if you had nothing to do with the movie sucking or as if you had no choice is completely classless.

My thoughts exactly. Ever since she won the Oscar she has been in nothing but shit movies (Die Another Day, Gothika, Catwoman) so she better step it up soon, because she can't rely on that one oscar forever. I mean, its cool that she showed up, but she has to take some, if not most, of the blame for the movie.

Replace the "c" in cool with an "f" & you've got a more accurate description of Ms Berry.

Halle Razzie (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/4301783.stm)

Berry gets worst actress Razzie

Berry's Catwoman was panned by the critics
Halle Berry thanked the makers of Catwoman for "putting me in a God-awful movie" when she turned up to collect her worst actress Razzie award.
The actress, whose surprise appearance got her a standing ovation from a packed house, made a lengthy speech, parodying her 2002 Oscar win.

"It was just what my career needed - I was at the top and now I'm at the bottom," she said.

Berry made a lengthy speech and parodied her sobbing during her 2002 Oscar win while brandishing her Oscar and Razzie - a small gold raspberry.

She said she turned up in person because she had been told as a child by her mother: "If you aren't able to be a good loser you're not able to be a good winner."

Catwoman also won worst film, director and screenplay, and screenwriter John Rogers was there to collect his prize.

The announcer joked that "the Academy would like its Oscar back" before Berry collected her Razzie.

She said: "It's not like I ever aspired to be here but thank you. I've got my Oscar and I don't want to give it back - it's got my name on it."

Berry, who got her agent and fellow Catwoman actress Alex Borstein on stage with her, added: "I'd like to thank the rest of the cast - to give a really bad performance like mine you need to have really bad actors."

The show opened with a song and dance routine based on the film Fame, which was renamed "Lame", and another number was sung called "Wind Between My Cheeks", parodying Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings".

After reading this article, I have serious doubt that Halle was taking all this too seriously. And I imagine alot of the people that were involved in making this movie understand this as well. I mean, how could you not? It's a fucking Razzie award show! By her just showing up, speaks volumes to me.

Oh, and where oh where were you Pitof? Both your star, and screenwriter were there. Where the fuck were you man?

Now thats someone who takes his shitty work a bit too seriously.

Did anyone else see all the previews for Halle Berry in THERE EYES WERE WATCHING GOD?

The book was really good, and I didn't really see Halle Berry in the role of Janie, but she could possibly make it work. The story is pretty racy, but it is on television, so it won't be too bad. I honestly wish this would have been released in theatres and taken some chances, but I won't judge before seeing it.

As far as picking better roles than CATWOMAN, I think this is a good start.

Wow, I've actually gained about a billion times more respect for Halle because of that.

I would've never expected her to do that.

Ugh, I actually have to watch that movie because we're reading the book in English. Not overly excited about it.

Wow, that is pretty cool. It's nice at least that the makers of Catwoman can admit that they made an awful, awful film

You know, I don't think Catwoman was that bad. I mean, it was bad, but it wasn't the biggest pile of crap ever pooped out of hollywood like many try to have us believe. If her costume hadn't been so incredibly ridiculous it wouldnt have been much worse than half of the lame superhero movies that get churned out nowadays. I don't think it was any worse than the punisher, for example.

Apparently Halle hated the costume too but they wouldnt change it. Halle is cool in my books.

I believe it was a mock-up of her oscar speech, and she probably meant none of it.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I don't know. What I do know is watching that made me feel like slapping her in the face. Maybe it's just me, but it sounded artificial, calculated, hypocritical, and unfair to everyone who worked on that movie same as her.

Well how was it? I missed it. I heard a few people saying some good things about it. Give me your thoughts.

However, I also heard that they cut the courtroom scene out, which is retarded. It's like cutting the courtroom scene from TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. But perhaps they made it work. Like I said, I didn't see it so I can't judge.

I saw Their Eyes Were Watching God and I thought Halle Berry did well as Janie. Very well. Hard role too. I respect her :D

I've seen the video, and see the same things, but where you don't seem to be seeing that she was joking, I do. Of course she should sound artificial, calculated and hypocritical -- She was giving a prepared mock speech where she was acting like she was actually thanking people who were part of arguably the worst movie of her carreer. And how is it unfair if she's the one on stage accepting the "worst actress" award.

Come on James, think about it like a Friar's Roast, where celebrities get together and make fun of one person. Saturday Night LIve recently did a skit called Sean Penn's Celebrity Roast, where Penn would get up after every roaster and say how wrong it was for the roasters to say mean things about such a great celebrity. (It was "Jeff Foxworthy" who was being roasted) Anyway, my point is -- You're acting like Sean Penn.

As for the slapping her in the face part, i think that might have just been annoyance at her "poor performace" in her joking acceptance speech. She really wasn't convincing, but I don't think she needed to be.

Either that or you have some sick S&M fetish.
