I don't think there's a thread for this movie yet, and I'm really bored right now so I thought I'd start one. Personally, I think it looks like one of the worst movies ever made. I no longer consider myself a Vin Diesel fan, which makes me sad because I used to think the guy was a good actor with a ton of potential. Not anymore. I hope this is a massive box office failure.

Diesel has a movie coming out with Sidney Lumet. It looks like he'll actually be required to act in that movie. Plus, his Hannibal project sounds promising. So I think there is still hope for Vin Diesel.

Whatever that...thing was on Diesel's head in the clip of the Lumet film looks really grotesque. Wait, that was a toupee? Take it off, take it off!
I had to laugh when I heard him say that working on THE PACIFIER was a life changing experience, or something like that. Suuuuurre...

He said that about working with the little kids. He said you could be the toughest guy in the world but when you put them with a baby their heart could melt. Or something to that effect.
I can understand that.

Cynical much??
If Lumet has enough confidence in Diesel to cast him in a film, you have to give the man a little bit of credit. I mean, Lumet's been making films (good film at that) for years, he most know something.
In regards to the Pacifier -- it could be a nice change of pace for Vinny. I can't think of any other movies (aside for Iron Giant) where he worked with kids.
And anyway, don't you know that PG rated family movies are the new black. People love them (e.g. National Treasure).
I wouldn't be surprised if this makes a lot of money this weekend.

When it comes to a family movie with a plot that rips off a Hulk Hogan movie and stars Vin Diesel and a duck, then yes, I am cynical. Call me crazy. I certainly will not be surprised if it makes a lot of money, but I hope and pray that it doesn't. I like Sidney Lumet, but the man is a tad past his prime. I don't think him casting Diesel proves anything.

I think you might be misreading what I said. He said working on the film has effected himself, not that this movie will be a life changing effect on anyone else.
This looks like a harmless family flick and I am actually looking forward to seeing it.
How can you not laugh when the little girl says that they will be late for school, then Vin says "not on my watch". And the next scene the car comes looming in towards the school and suddenly stops and then the little girl jumps out of the car: "land!". That part ALWAYS cracks me up.

How can I not laugh at that? I could easily turn that question around. I cringe when I see that. I can't think of anything that looks less funny than this movie. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

I went to a screening of this a long time ago.. It's pretty stupid, but it's for the kiddies, no witty grown up stuff, it's for 5 year olds, and pretty much no one else.

Saw this with my girlfriend last night, along with biggest theatre filled. Let me just say that i thought it was just okay, but it was a real hit to everybody else seeing it. Laughter through out the whole thing.
Don't feel like going into detail about a movie nobody here will like.
Solid 7.5/10

I agree with you. The thing about this movie is that you get exactly what you expect to. It was funny, silly but all in all entertaining.

Pacifier #1????? Over Be Cool?????
Its gotta be cause its a "family" flick
Hey I like Vin...I like Pitch Black and thought Chronicles was kick ass..I even think he looks good in this upcoming Lumet flim..but only in a world of chaos (which we are in) does Vin Diesal open to #1 over a flick that has:
John Travolta
Uma Thurman
The Rock
and host of other crazies....
its GOT to be cause its goofy flick aimed at the whole family.
I also cant fucking believe that Diary of a Mad Black man dressed like a black woman is over CONSTANTINE?????
Whats the fucking world coming to?
I could say so much about that one but I dont wanna get banned for coming off racist which I am not..suffice it to say that Chris Rock pretty much summed it up with those telling interviews of how many HIS people seen fucking White Chicks over the nominated films..and werent even embarassed to admit. If he was trying to poke fun at white america or the studios about not making movies that appeal to blacks, it backfired on him, cause that aint how (I) interpreted it.

I don't have kids and I think it looks like it might be good.
Then again I do have nieces and nephews I could watch it with...

Judging from the trailers, I think this movie looks pretty entertaining. I wonder how many people who thought it looked good were disappointed, because it seems that a lot of people simply don't want to see it to begin with.

It's certainly not perfect. Not all of the jokes work, the nanny character was useless and unnecessary, the opening action sequence was incredibly awkward and the movie contians HUGE lapses in logic, but so what? Especially when I found this to be such a sweet, endearing charmer with some very, very funny moments. Vin Diesel shines and he's got great chemistry with the kids. Though underused, Lauren Graham gives a nice turn, Brad Garrett is hysterical (even if his character is just a one dimensional cartoon caricature, he's a funny caricature) and the kids are all great. This is just a hugely enjoyable movie for the entire family!
