So what is your favourite movie genre... The one you get the most out of, the one you see a good majority of your movies in.... I'd haveta say mine would either be Horror or Suspense/Drama.... What's yours?

I love all genres but if I could choose just one I guess I'm often very excited with science fiction.

Drama would be second. Followed by action/adventure and then suspense.

Action/Adventure

Two of my top three belong in that category (T2 and Aliens).

Musical, closely followed by noir and screwball comedy. But I guess from the poll I would choose drama.

Suspense

Preferably Hitchcock's classic masterpieces VERTIGO, REBECCA,SPELLBOUND, & NOTORIOUS, and the old school Film Noirs such as DOUBLE INDEMNITY and THE MALTESE FALCON. Of the contemporary films, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, BLUE VELVET, and MULHOLLAND DRIVE.

By far most of the truly great films that I have ever seen are found in the drama category.

Sci-Fi and Action/Adventure. I'm in heaven when a movie combines elements of both genres... :D

Drama and suspense, no doubt.

I love movies from any and all genres, though.

I voted drama...but does anyone else think that genre's are generally pretty arbitrary? I always look at them as pretty subjective - one person could think something is Action/Adventure while someone else might think it's drama.

But, for the sake of simplicity, genres are handy! ;)

Meh, I tend to lump Sci-F and Western under Action

And I throw suspense under drama or action, depending on the movie. (The Firm = Drama, 8mm = Action)

If I could go back in time and un-invent any genre, it would be horror.

So I guess I'd go Action #1, Drama #2, Comedy #3, Horror # negative 1000.
