It didn't look like this had been posted in here yet...so...here goes. :)

We're talking about James Cameron's Titanic. Our industry sources have confirmed that a SERIOUS special edition is currently being worked on by Fox. You can expect it to follow a similar pattern to New Line's Lord of the Rings films on DVD - a 2-disc version and a more elaborate 4-disc edition. Both will feature a sparkling new anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film. Among the many extras you can expect are lots of deleted scenes and tons of "behind-the-scenes" material. Watch for it to be announced later this year for release in the 4th Quarter. As expected, it'll be released by Paramount here in the States, and Fox internationally.

Fox will certainly bring out this title as a special edition. They've been going speical edition crazy over the last few months releasing most of their major movies in 2 disc format. I must admit I wouldn't mind a 4 disc set, maybe one containing Cameron's post Titanic, Ghosts of the Abyss.

I love the film, and own the one disk, I'll most definetely be buying the special edition too.

I want the 4-disc set. This is a movie that Ioved enough tha I wouldn't mind shelling out extra money for it. Back in 1997, I was so looking forward to this movie that I bought the Making Of book before I even watched the flick. Of course, I waited until afterwards to open it up. :D

Another special edition of a shitty movie that completely missed the point. They should sell this movie and The Day After Tomorrow SE in a shitty 2-pack.

I've always held back from buying the single disc edition and knew that they'd eventually get around to releasing an SE. I'll definitely be picking this up.

I'm pissed about what is mentioned at the top of that link though, an Office Space SE. I never actually expected that, which is why I bought the single discer last year. Still, I love Office Space to bits, so I'll undoubtedly end up buying it.

Why waste your money on the two disc SE of Office Space! Sure I loved the movie, and it is 1 of my favorite comedies, but what is going to be on the SE that is worth another 20$? I say fuck these copanies. They are going to come out with regular editions, special editions, super duper gold edition, FUCK THEM!

It's about damn time! What took them so long?!

Of all movies, this one definately deserves a special eddition! Even if you don't like this movie, this is such a huge epic that this movie just cries out for a 2 disc or 4 disc special eddittion!

You raise a good argument. I take back my original comment.

Fuck Fox. Fuck them up their stupid asses.

However, I'll still get the Titanic DVD

FINALLY, someone that shares my sentiment; Titanic, was a great speical effects film, but as far as story, it was flushed down to the bottom of the ocean like a 300,000 tonne piece of shit in a giant toilet.

And as far as the Day after tomorrow, that was chock full of suck too.

give something like House of 1000 corpses, or an actual friday the 13th series, that deserves a special edition set. (I do not count that crap box set that was released, as a SE for friday the 13th....I am sure they would sell more if they rereleased them and did it right....I have ALL of them individually, and it took a year and a half to find them.)

Shit and Titanic shouldn't be used in the same sentence anywhere in the same post that then goes on to praise House of 1000 Corpses and the Friday the 13th films.

Anyway, I'd get the Titanic SE. I always like this movie. Never loved it, but I'm never not entertained by it.
